Modeling Question!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the double post but I figured this might be important,okay eh...snipe,the max script in the link above does indeed contain the .obj plugin,however I have run into a new issue which somebody might know how to fix,I go to the C drive,program files,blah microsoft blah games blah and so on and I open every folder,and not a one do I see a file of a model or something to open.

This is because they are packed or compiled into a .MAP file, so you need a program to extract that, and the common program to do this (assuming it is for halo PC) is to use HMT. If it is for Halo CE, you would open the tags with JMS importer, set up nodes and bones, export and put into a custom map.

To install the scripts, just follow these simple steps:

(1) Copy the MAXScript into your gmax\scripts\startup directory.

hey sonic tag i got 3ds max 6 and i imported the sniper rilfle and when ever i try to edit stuff on it, it is real touchy, and i can really do anything with it. what do i have to do, do i have to edit it in vertex selection mode, or wat? also when i try to export somethin over the old model in hmt v3.5 it sais an unhandled excepfton has occured? y is this, thanx sonic!

download the HMT 5

as for moddelling i use Cinema 4d. It so easy to use. I export the model to 3ds MAX 6 and then i can exprt it using blitzkrieg so i can use it in halo.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I'm not sure what to do. I have the object importer in the right spot, I have the drop down menu under Utilities saying "Wavefront OBJ Importer" ... but not what?

Do I have to do anything else besides selecting it in the drop down list?

What does it mean by a rollout?

Run the script... The it might ask you to find the model and you find it and it does all the work.
And I do prefer bumping to new threads personally.
