ok, i am ready to make a map and i have all of kirk's vid tutorials, but i have photoshop instead of paintshop, so i get stuck right at the part where he says to edit the alpha mask or whatever. please help me out

Photoshop can do the same thing. There is an alpha channel...RTFM.

go to channels, next to layers, and make a new channel. itll automatically be correctly set up as an alpha channel. now just paste your terrain into that channel, repaint it black & white, then run a blur filter. save it as a tif, it will now work just like kirk4s tutorial from there on.

hey thanks, but when i make the alpha visible, it adds a red tint, should i worry about that? or does it even matter?
