halo ce loading time?

Post by gecko753 »

as you all have hopefully noticed, the 3 video clips from the loading of halo pc have been replaced with... waiting. but i'm wondering, does halo ce take longer to load when you have more extra maps? i think that one time i added about 8 new maps at once, started up halo ce, walked away, and came back a bit later and it still was loading. anyone else experience this?

no, it doesn't take any longer the more maps you have. I have ALL of them, (check the maps site) and it takes the same amount of time to load as it originally did

Yeah, I think it registers all the maps with Halo itself because one time I took out a map while it was loading, or something, and it was like:
Missing *name of map here*.

It takes like, one minute for me. I don't have all of the maps though, I deleted all the stupid ones, plus the ones that were kinda cool, but i never played.

My loading time went from 5 minutes to like 10 seconds after I dumped all the maps out of my maps folder. Explaination, please?

Yup halo reads all the maps and checks them before loading thus the long waits. It will differ from each computer since everyone's is different.

The more maps you have downloaded and installed means the slower the load time for HaloCE. Pain in the fucking ass is all I can say. HaloPC loads much faster but, is much laggier during gameplay than HaloCE. I would say HaloCE is the better version of Halo to go with even though it has a slower loading time than HaloPC.

yeah it takes forever to load. It isn't loading them it's checking I think. Another thing that sucks is that the "checking for updates" part takes FOREVER! Sometimes it's so gay I just play Halo pc instead. Why does it need to check for updates? No other games do that! Why would they make updates for an "unsupported" version of Halo? is gearbox and bungie on crack or something?
