Ok...so I'm new.....small problem...

Hey Guys
I'm totally new at Halo and I'm addicted allready...
Having one small problem..

.. It seems to be running great and then she crashes on me...???
Not only that but when I go back in to load up a level or a spot that I had manually saved it starts me off right at the begining...??? (even check points)
I have updated it with the newest patch from what I can tell but.....
I have now played the first 20 min of the game 4 times and not that it is not great...I would like to be able to get off this ship at some point.

Got any ideas...???

Im running it on
- a PC with xp pro service pack 1
- I have updated my video card and sound card
- I can play other games (Hitman2 - MaxPayne 2) with no problems...???

II have a GeForce MX 400
I know its old but it works great on the other games I play.....so I can't see it being that...

hmmm i dont know then.. try closing all your other open applications if you havent already.

Did that and I am in the process of adjusting my "disable the FSAA mode " to see if that helps but I still do not see how this would affect the lack of being able to get back into a level........

ok that did not work......
It just seems there is no memory"library" of my saved games or completed levels...???
When I go to load them they are there...as in the time played and where abouts I am in the game ...but they all load me back to the begining of the game....HELP!!!!!

Okay, try this. Go to the first checkpoint of the game. Press escape, and save the checkpoint (Save last checkpoint). Now, quit the level.

Once you've returned to the main screen, choose campaign, and then click on the tab "load game". What do you see there?

Maybe it's having a problem keeping tabs on your savegames.

I will try that but the one thing I did do befor was save a few times in the game not being 100% sure if the "check points" would do that...
I will try again and get back to you as Im dying to play.....

See that is the weird thing it has the time stamp on the load game as in it has saved it but it still allways sends me back to the beginign of the game....ughhhhhh

Beat the first level on easy, saving it right before you reach the end. That way, you still reach Halo, and you can see if it isn't just a small glich.

Also, when you load, does it play the opening cinematic?

Check to see if there is a folder in "My Documents" called "My Games".
