I'm having to collision probs @ the moment on the same parts of the wall in both bases. One section of the wall I can go through, but the rest of it I can' t. I don't know if it's wall placement, but if that was the case, I'd be having the problem all along the wall - but the problem is only occuring in two places..

Any Ideas??

Thanks... :D Ive been working on it for about a week, from the initial ground layout and then tweaking the raised reigons... Only last night I managed to get the collisions tut working and created my base walls as a piece of scenery.

Ive seen a load of maps with the usual grass/dirt goundmaps but I wanted a landscape to be totally alien so I came up with the one you see here..

:o Well it's my first attempt at a map that works.. :D
Im sure there's a lot to do on a map taht will rock, but theres not enough tuts and tips 'n tricks also I think there should have been more documentation outa gearbox on the HDK that just the one that came with the software... Some of the things covered in the tuts were not mentioned in the gearbox tuts.. so there's bound to be more interesting things you can do with the HDK.

Hmmmm - I'm working on it.. but having loadsa trouble trying to create underground bases.

This is the steps.. (see if you can spot what Im doing wrong).

1. make a hole in the ground (ie. delete a few faces where the base entrance will be).

2. Create the base.. (having welding probs here) in trying to join up different objects/structures - keep getting 'no verteces to weld' or something to do with the verteces not near enough??? end result is I cant wield 2 objects's verteces together.

If I can get over step 1/2 I'll be well on my way to creating my underground lairs..

ok

1) make the base first THEN delete the faces in the ground.

2) you need to attatch the two objects you are trying to weld.
