Well, the problem is that each cache is around 40mb for a MP map, and 140mb (about) for a SP map. So posting the cache files is hard. If you can find some one with tons of free bandwidth, willing to host the all the cache files, then great.... thats just very unlikely.

(on a side note, many things can be found on peer2peer networks that shouldnt be there.... not that im sugesting anything of course)

#1 it violates copywrite laws #2 files are way too big to be hosted on a small server.

I haven't tried it, but what's wrong with putting your Halo disc into a computer with a dvd drive?

You should be able to access the compressed versions. Even if it's on a mates computer it'll be easier to do a few trips with a cdrw or grabbing a network cable than downloading them.

I WOULDNT try that if i were you (seeing as i havent heard of anyone doing it, im guessing you shouldnt) :P
If you FTP to ur xbox with the halo cd in, then u can access the compressed cache files from there.

That is true... but you don't even need your halo disc in there, halo just needs to be one of the last couple of games you've played. BUT... He doesn't have a modded xbox, so he can't ftp into it, that's why he's asking for a download source.

If he wants the compressed cache files, then you have to get them from your halo cd. The .map files in your X,Y,Z drives are uncompressed.
