I have finished the 2nd Level... added certain things, and i am satisfied with them for now. I have figured out how to tweak gravity. Now i have come to a problem.. i found out my bridge was distorted, and unrepairable. So i restarted the bridge. Now i need your advice. Should i expand the whole map and make this big middle section? or should i just leave it be, and scratch the middle section?

i have a great suggestion for making a base with interior. i used it for my level me and hydroxic are working on. what u do is make the exterior of your base. clone it and then just scale it down a bit. then move the door vertices a bit to make them be in the same place (cept inside it). then just create faces as you want to make the dorr no be able to snake into the walls of the base. then to get to the top you could add a ladder or a ramp. hope that helped.

To build my bases, I simply construct them inverted. It's more managable, I think. Then, once construction is completed, I simply flip all of the normals.
Start with a base like this (see how all of the walls are facing the wrong direction?

Treat it just like a normal mesh. Extrude out the back, scale, move vertexes, ect (and unlike me, apply symetry early, so later you don't have two halves, both with parts you'd rather keep...)
Later, flip the normals so they all face inside like they're supposed to. if you need to make a hole in yoru base for a column (like you mayt very well need to, if you plan on putting in cover) simply boolean a box out, and add detail with a slice plane and some scaling, maytbe even cut.

God I love 3ds Max... I've been using it for a little over a year now, and the program has proven itself superior in every way to Maya, for my purposes...
The only problem with the scaling method above is that it requires the outside and inside geometry to be the same (with my above base, you can only imagine how ugly it would be) and that you could produce simmilar results easier. They basicly do use the same construction techniques as me, of building the base inside out, but thye don't invert it, they simply repeat it.

lol ollie.. anyway. I am officially done with halomods. I am postponing this project until i learn the essential skills to complete it. I hope halomods lifts itself from its grave soon. Oh wait, even if it does it will still suddenly be infested with noobs. goodbye halomod. I will occasionally stop by and post something but not very often. I am saddened at this pathetic forum. It wasnt pathetic before i moved, and i come back and everything is different. No sigs, HEK is out, blah blah blah .aloha
