Permanent mods

I am making a second copy of halo on my xbox with my best mods on each level, so instead of earasing my cache and repatching them over and over, i can just open the maps right away. So lets say i'm going to patch hang em high, i loaded it and transfered cache003 to my computer. I patched it with my patches with ppf-o-matic, so now what do i need to do? I think maybe something with sparkedit? Someone told me i needed to compress or decompress the cache file into a map but everytime i try it says its corrupt. Am i doing something wrong or did i miss a step???

Nevermind i think i found my mistake,
4. Hit file and Save as compressed
5. Now Save the file as the name of a map you don't want like ratrace.map

i found that on a much earlier post and i was saving my newly compressed map as the cache file lol, i'm a noob.
