The only thing I can think of that's semi-difficult to detect is grammar...Aumaan Anubis wrote:It's possible... but yet again, Tural would probably have it. And Tural's mention of the difficulty of detecting the reason seems to deny that theory. I can't imagine that a word count is incredibly difficult to process.

Re: Emblem Discussions
Tural's grammar is probably one of the best on the site, if not the best. And I really haven't seen any giant posts by Tural, please correct me if I'm wrong. That's why I was going with that.
Re: Emblem Discussions
Get Tural aggravated enough and you will be crushed under the weight of his rebuttal. So I can't really agree.

Re: Emblem Discussions
Tural's long posts usually appear when he's crushing someone's soul. As in, they have an incorrect belief, or some such, and he critiques their entire post. His can get quite long.
Edit: ...Scotty...
I have a hard time believing that it's grammar. I imagine that a script that can "measure" someone's grammar level would be flawed. Similarly, nobody said it was for perfect grammar. As in, it could be for atrocious grammar, if it's for grammar at all.
Finally, Tural said it was for something you "did." As in, it's a particular action. Hence, I believe that good grammar would be out of the question.

Re: Emblem Discussions
If that edit was directed at me...I don't get it. I disagreed with the idea on grammar. It'd be stupid to write a script which analyses the entire post database for people who demonstrate good grammar and Tural not having the emblem is extra proof that it isn't the case. Why are we talking about it?

I think he was editing saying that you said the same thing, I think he threw the edit into the middle of his post.

You posted before I did about crushing a user's soul, or something similar, so I simply referenced you.

I wonder how many chevrons you have.DeadHamster wrote:Those are the only posts I have that are long really, except for maybe a couple more, so I'm thinking it might be that meeting the requirement is having a single post with so many characters.

Re: Emblem Discussions
Ha. I think got it now, for each super long post we had we got a chevron. And the number of total posts we had determines what color it was.

Re: Emblem Discussions
Hmm...if that's what the emblems are actually for, it seems odd that I did not get one for this post. Maybe it's only for posts in modding sections?

Re: Emblem Discussions
I don't think chevrons directly correlate to each long post. If this is true.
For instance. Three long posts would elicit one chevron.
Five long posts would elicit two chevrons. And so on.
DeadHamster showed us the two posts, and said that he did have more. So it seems that you need more than just one or two to get a chevron.

Possible. In previous emblems boards such as the Cafe are excluded from counts.RaVNzCRoFT wrote:Maybe it's only for posts in modding sections?

Re: Emblem Discussions
Please, feel free to prove me long, but I perused coodude25's posts. He has the blue emblem, one chevron. But he appears to not have a post that spans an excessive length, one that you would need to achieve said emblem.

Might be this. Then again, I may be wrong on its meaning. Maybe it's line count versus actual content of the post? idk. My argument posts usually are done in paragraphs, possibly meaning they only come out to a few lines per post (No manual line breaks?).

Re: Emblem Discussions
If it was line count, I should've gotten one for my very first post.
That's a whole lotta' lines. More than he had.

Re: Emblem Discussions
I wouldn't think it would be line breaks. That doesn't make sense to me, if I was to make an emblem for something like that, I'd make it for a word/character count.
Could it possibly be only for new topics in a modding forum, which would explain Tural/RaVNzCRoFT's lack of one?

Re: Emblem Discussions
I'd wager more on it being just modding boards, not necessarily new topics. I don't have any long posts in a modding board, afaik. Not sure if new topics is a necessary qualifier.
