I think that given the new layout of the website should come along with a revamped logo with a new text format instead of the one used for many years.. (dont get me wrong im not bashing the site at all just my outlook on the logo idea)

If you're going to do that, then please make it clean.
Look at the Windows logo.
Apple's logo. CNN, FOX, and NBC.

They are clean, convey the message, and (while they may have some fancy effects) retain a simplicity and try to maintain a brand image. That latest one:
-Cuts off on the border
-Is much too aliased
-Doesn't fit with the simplicity of the rest of the forum
-Is unfamiliar to anything that's been done with HM in the past. Use a new font if you wish, I don't think anyone's stopping you, but retaining "Wide Awake" gives brand recognition.

My apologies if this is isn't the place to put criticisms and suggestions, but it still is the Graphics forum, and I believe it applies.

nice job sarb you definitely have alot of skill in image editing but i made your most recent smaller and injected it in a copy of the forum and it looks kinda akward up there i dono.. either way your submissions are amazing looking

Not too sure what I did here but heres what asample of what my banner would look like if the theme were to be modified:

Maybe we can have a list of themes in the user control panel, and the user can select the theme that appeals the most to him/her.
That way we could include quite a few logo designs.

Fix the painful aliasing. By far the simplest.

I like RaVN's second one. It fits better than the true classic ones (it's the border that kills them).
