What do you think of the "new Halomods"?

Off topic chat. Basically anything that doesn't concern halo or halo modding can go here.

It's a forum, where we can go to have fun and converse over the interwebnets with friends. Not kewl guyz, not kewl.

AND Why arn't you pillaging! YOur one them Arnt you!!!!

This sucks. Big time.

No offense to anyone involved, but the new management sucks. Again, Big time.

I'll probably come back for a few days, to see if the new changes actually grow on me.
I sorta' already know the answer to that, though.

Theme sucks.
Staff is resigning... so there's nobody I can argue with and be excited about it.

Oh and a small FYI to SourceGuy... you don't make a huge change to the basic routine of our lives, or at least mine, and then say, "imma tired, answer yur ?s in teh mornins. night. enjoy"

This could've been handled so much better. I find it sooo incredibly amazing that organizations fail, absolutely fail, at requesting user input before changes are made.

Crysis? Ipod?
WTF? Like. Really. Get the HaloMods name the hell off of the banner if you're going to include misc. modding, like that.
Similar to INSANEdrive's signature, this isn't HaloMods anymore. It's just another generic modding site. And those sites last a shorter period than specific ones do.

I understand you guys are trying to prolong the life of HaloMods the best you can, but some things just happen, alright? Everyone knew we were going downhill. I suspected it would end soon. But I would've rather seen a post on the Announcements announcing the end of HaloMods, rather than this happen. Because HaloMods just died.

------------------------------------------------

Hey, all other members that've been part of my life for a looong time now. Y'all' are awesome. It's been an awesome two and a half years.
Seriously, if anyone wants to get together on Xbox Live, or World of Warcraft(we'll all join Tural's server and bug the hell out of him), feel free to send a message.
I'll still be online at Remnant Mods, and I encourage others to join the few of us there. (We mod Halo.)

[insert deep and profound comment about my past years here].

And yes, I'm probably taking this too seriously. But one of my largest characteristics, one that affects my life every day, is my loyalty to the past. I'm not a fan of change. Especially change that wasn't at all needed.

Thanks! :D Good to see you still on board, GTA. And technically, Aumaan, most of the Dev Team, including myself, are Staff from either long ago, or current. The timing of this transition was a bit goofed up, and I don't agree with everything about it, but we're doing what we can for the future. That's why I again ask for constructive opinions. Several of you have given some, and they've all been noted.

There is a lot more with staff that isn't public. It isn't just that the forums changed. That's very little of the problem.

We have valid reasons. I don't mean to be rude but you don't know anything, and we're not going to post anything on the public forums because all it would do is cause drama and divide the site further. Just leave it at that.

Most of this madness is from lack of information. A Lack of Info from both sides. Why do you dangle such a bone at us?

The more I look into this... the more this all Stinks. From both sides.

It's not info you need to know. If I posted why I personally left, I'd most likely be banned.

Holy crap it's raining--ABANDON SHIP.

I for one am disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm shown by everyone... even resistance to the change.
You all say you knew that Halomods was in the fast-lane to Deathville, yet when there's a change to try and get it off that course, you all say it's already arrived.
Give it a chance for goodness sake!
These changes are result of a LOT of work done by the dev team, 'specially SourceGuy, and we're greeting it with, "HALOMODS LOLDIED LOLOLOL."

I for one would rather the community--AND my friends--stick around to try to find a good, new direction for Halomods.
To those that leave because we're trying to improve, don't forget your seat cushion can be used as a flotation device...

Does it really matter so much to you as to how the forum looks? As long as we are able to exchange information to each other, it doesn't matter how pretty we look while doing so.

Aesthetics aren't the main issue.

These changes seem really ineffective, but never once did I think that Halomods was going to die, I was happy with the way things were going, yes we didn't have many new mods, but we had each other, now everyone is ready to riot.

All legends retire, now we should too, we have been through everything, this once was a thriving community, now it's a Hall of Fame, we should be proud of what we have done and stop trying to add to our history book because there are no more pages to write.

Now we should all sit down, have a drink, and chat away. We have each other, now let's keep each other.

The End.

What? Why the hell is there a Crysis/iPod/GTA4 Modding section? I figured we were called HALOMODS for a reason.

And the forum is almost impossible to navigate now, I'm having trouble figuring out what is supposed to be what. phpBB3 sucks ass. Been here 4 years and this is what I get?

Halomods fail is FAIL.

I want Gren back.

All I can really comment on is the dislike of theme (see: C&S). What I really don't like is ex-staff talking about secret stuff that is very concerning to them (which puts curiousity and concern on me) which has then lead to a divide and I don't like this divide in a relatively strong (yet small, at least the parts where I participated) community...I also don't like really long sentences.

I guess I'll wait, twiddling my thumbs, waiting/hoping for more information on everything.

I noticed that the change also "erased" over a years worth of PMs I had.

Also, my ONI emblem. But in the process I somehow gained 4 or 5 more emblems. I feel violated

Those emblems have seemingly since been removed!
They are tugging at your heartstrings!

The front page is nice at least. Got no idea how you would have coded the mod/picture featurerer! I could have made one very quickly for you in Flash (in fact, I recently bragged about how I made a good one, which I might show off here soon ;)). But yeah pretty cool
