Xbox, Ultramon is a perfect software solution for that. 30-day trial based but if you uninstall it then reinstall 30-days restarts. (That wouldn't be considered 'warez' would it? Since I'm not suggesting a key or anything, right?)

Also, it Ultramon has some pretty sweet features other then that.

How can I have two different background images for my primary and secondary monitor?
I didn't look at the link khas posted, but I've used ultramon, and it works just fine for that.

also, do some digging around with your drivers. I know there's an ATI control panel for my x800, maybe there's something similar from your manufacturer that has this feature.

now on to my question: I'm looking for the cheapest netbook out there with the best battery life. I think the 6-cell Acer Aspire One package is the best I've seen, but I haven't done extensive research on it, oro ther netbooks. Is there anyone here with a netbook they can recommend?
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

Dell inspiron 640m 9 cell grants 9 hours on Vista on battery saver mode.
Just a pity that Dell batteries lose their luster after pretty much 1 year.

this thread may become confusing, and a mush of all those things, it might be better if people still started their own threads for computers they are considering. Just throwing that out there....

My logic is that when someone's issue is resolved, the thread will die down a bit. We don't have an endless flood of computer topics, so there's a decent chronological separation of posts.

I've been using MSN for quite some time now, but I hate how it redirects to IE7 when I check E-Mail through it. It's the only program that forces Internet explorer. Is there a way to instead of forcing it to IE7 and instead making it open in Firefox?

I'm going to save up about $1200 when I get a job and wanted to see if I could get a machine with good graphics and performance and a large hard drive. Can you check, I'm not good with computer specs.

I believe you have to make an image of your file and create an autorun file.

1 build coming up.
EDIT:
Look for these, they should fit your budget.
E8400
Xigmatech 92 mm cooler thingy
Cooler Master 690
4870 X2 (Power color has one for like 430 right now)
Some LG Cd drive
Western digital 640GB harddrive
650TX Power Supply
P5Q Pro
That 4GB G.Skill 800 pack for 40 bucks.
Oh and vista 64 bit
And that's it I think. Remember to overclock the cpu.
