I bought the 18 for $1,487 including tax and haven't had a single problem.
I can say from experience that it can play Fallout 3 and UT3 on ultra high without stuttering.
I love the media bar above the keyboard, so that I can change songs and such without dragging my mouse all the way over to my other monitor.
