i wood luv to see the tuts but damnit it wont let me open them
i have winrar and all its just when i open it it says "Rar!"

thanks alot, the tutorials covered every aspect of making a basic level that i needed, they also helped me out a lot with tunnels and i cant wait untill you've made more

Im not sure if you are familiar with what video is which but im on the 2nd. vid. It talks about using 3d Max and making 2 boxes, when i made the map following the directions, the walls as well as the floor was my map, (like map on floor, how its supposed to) but also as all the walls??? i made the map bigger then the vid. said in painshop pro. so whould the box be bigger in 3ds max ?

the size i made in photoshop, was 3x the size is said in vid.

should i make the box in 3ds max 3x bigger? or does that matter,?

all i really need to know is why my map showed up on the walls of the box.

It sounds like you didn't change the material ID for the walls and ceiling...make sure you select the floor of the level and set that ID to 2 and the walls and ceiling should be 1

I think that the material when applied with the material editor will automaticly strecth out and macth the edges of the polygon you apply it to. i Took a 128 X 128 bit map from danger cannon and used that as a floor for my level, and it strecthed out, to cover my 10000 unit map. Of course the texture will now pixelate and look like crap, so you want to make as detailed a texture as possible.

NOt sure how it works in 3dsmax 3 .. in 6 it works fine.

hey again.. well still no luck... i watched the video for like 2 hours in slow motion to capture and listen to every instruction... can one of u help me please.. can i send u my save file, and u can tell whats wrong by my settings? please , my mind is hurting.. PLEASE..

i checkd and made sure everything was a diff number and such and still no luck... please help me

yay. the halomods team is gonna make a tutorial on weapons, destructable vehicles, and scenery (even tho scenery was just finished)

can u send me a link to the sapien thing.when i looked for it i dont think i found what u talked about.the thing i got was like a hex editor.help.and can u make maps for the pc rater than the ce.i want to do the moving things to other spots and adding things without taking things.

Can someone help me with exporting the map through 3ds max. When i finish my map and am told to export it as a .jms file, i try to and it said "don't know how to save that file" or something of the type. Help please.

I am having the same problem too!

Plus. I cant fix the textures around the bases.

Hey slider821...

Have you installed the blitzkreig plugin ijnto your 3DS installation?

To install the Blitzkrieg Exporter Plug-in for 3ds Max do the following:


1) If you are running 3ds Max, close the program

2) Copy the file Blitzkrieg.dle from the Halo CE\Blitzkrieg directory.

3) Place the Blitzkrieg.dle file into the plugins directory under 3ds Studio Max (eg. c:\3dsmax5\plugins).

4) Start 3ds Max.

If the plug in was successfully installed and loaded then you should be able to go to File->Export and see the following export options under Save as type in the pull down menu (scroll down the list) "Blitzkrieg Animation Exporter" and "Blitzkrieg Model Exporter".

In fact I actually see 'Halo Model Exporter' or 'halo Animation Exporter'

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the help, I did what you said and now it works. What i did wrong was use the max 5 exporter, when I am accually using 3dS Max 6. So, I got the exporter for max 6 and did what you said and now it works, thanks for the help.

yo, i found the plugin got it all goin, and there is always another error somewhere wit me lol, im getting when i try exporting it says no goematry to export, ok i bet ive made a real dumb mistake but without rubbin it in lol wld someone tell me where im goin wrong plzz :oops: :oops:

you can get the 3ds max 6 blitzkrieg exporter here. btw... kirk, you are a genious, i really appriciate those tutorials, the one thatcame with HEK was useless and horrible compared to yours. i have recently created two very nice maps (in my opinion) thanks to you. i am eternally in your debt and the only thing i need to know now is the steps to making teleporters and ladders... thx a bunch man and keep it up.
