But I do have a rant. I've been trying to figure out which game I'm going to add into the "megaman" category of games. For instance, MegaMan was really popular, so when it came out, they released, a MegaMan 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X1, X2, X3, X4, etc... And there was essentially little difference between each one.
A similar game in the category, is Madden. As I once saw in a comic provided by... ScottyGEE? It showed that the basic difference between each Madden game is the date on the title. For instance...
Madden NFL 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 07, and 08. Much difference in the graphics? No. But I can see that, since teams can be generally different each year, they make a new game satisfying that.
And again, Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13.
Final Fantasy Tactics; Final Fantasy Tactics Advance; Final Fantasy X-2; Final Fantasy IV the After: Tsuki no Kikan
There are like, 4 different Final Fantasy VII games...and 4 different Final Fantasy Tactics...
Anyway. I'm sure you get the idea.
But I've been wondering, which game will be next? Well, all, I think we've found it.
Same type of gameplay with each game? Yes.
Slight graphics quality increase with each release? Yes.
Only major difference in game is the number on the title? Yes.

Seriously, the next game is going to be called, Call of Duty 6: Ancient Combat. Everybody gets to throw rocks and sticks at each other. If you're lucky, you can, Hold X to pick up sharp rock, and then you got, like, the major power weapon.

Call of Duty 1 and Call of Duty 2's campaign were fun. Then it just got so damn repetitive.
I admit, Call of Duty 4's multiplayer is pretty fun, but I just don't see enough in it to buy it.

There's a reason it's called a series. The games have enough differences between them to be unique. A passing glance may lead you to believe they're not very similar, but that's akin to saying Halo 1, 2 and 3 have "little difference" because they're all 3D FPS. Holy shit I stopped reading right there. Are you fucking kidding me dude? REALLY? You're going to tell me that the differences between Final Fantasy 1 and 12 are comparable to the difference between Megaman games? Every Final Fantasy has had SEVERAL new/unique game mechanics, usually its own unique battle system (or something pertaining to it, such as VII's materia system, VIII's junction system, etc) and of course an original story line/characters. Amazingly enough, it's because they're all related to the Final Fantasy VII story. Crazy, I know, but hear me out. Before Crisis and Crisis Core are prequels that give answers to the origin of certain characters, motives, and basic ideas behind the game. Dirge of Cerberus is just a sequel to the events of Final Fantasy VII, what's the problem with that? Hurr bandwagon. Just curious, did you ever play Call of Duty 1-5? Call of Duty has changed in all of its iterations fairly significantly. 2 had a class system, 3 had a class system that featured ingame upgrades depending on your score, 4 had a create-a-class system that tracked global progress, and 5 has admittedly copied it, but they've added enough of their own features to it to make it unique, fresh, and enjoyable.Aumaan Anubis wrote:Seriously, the next game is going to be called, Call of Duty 6: Ancient Combat. As for the time periods, it's because of the developers. Treyarch and Infinity Ward switch off to make the games each year, and Treyarch decided to do one last World War II game. At first, I was skeptical of it, but I think they've pulled it off quite well. It may not sell better than Call of Duty 4, but it'll still do very well in terms of sales and the online community's population. Infinity Ward has stated that they don't want to make another World War II game and were only interested in modern or future combat, and I believe Treyarch has said something similar (or at least no more World War II).
Anyways, to sum it all up. Think before you post stupid shit please.
I hate the new COD. Actually I hate all COD's.
The first gears was fun for a bit, then sucked shit.
The new one much more fun in my opinion, but only for so long.
