Jean-Luc wrote:The Futurist is a music CD composed, performed, and in 8/10 songs, written by none other than Robert Downey Jr.
The music really has a kind of earthy, soulful tone remniscent of Sting and/or the Dave Matthew's variety that I really like. While not all of his songs are winners in my opinion, he definitely has a well produced album here.
It's nice to see that actors are more than their movies/tv shows, and that they like to humanize themselves through other mediums. Believe it or not, RDJ also painted the artwork throughout the CD cover and on the CD itself, and his lyrics are a firm and occasionally sorrowful look at his own life.

Anyone else listened to this CD and liked/disliked?

For audio clips, here ya go (try Kimberly Glide or The Futurist):

Just listened to it. It's actually really nice; it will come in handy for homework/relaxing.

Stick to Your Guns. Both albums, "For What It's Worth" & "Comes From the Heart" are just simply amazing.

Streetlight Manifesto:

I wasn't really aware of the bands playing before Streetlight, but I was pleasantly surprised by The AKAs and Fear Nuttin Band. The latter was a cool hip-hop/rock/reggae style, which was pretty fun when you're three feet from the band. The crowd got me shoved to the back when Streetlight Manifesto came on, but a good time was still had.

Thanks for more suggestions, Cox. ( I feel as if I should call you by your name :p) I wasn't feeling Dead Man's Party, but I dug The Knitters. Already had Lexicon and Infected Mushroom. :D

Cox, Gametag, JK-47, and Shadowkhas: Look up a group called Deerhunter. I recommend their song Cryptograms for a good start.

They opened for NIN at the concert we went to. They sounded 50/50...but it was the kind of music that I suspect I'd enjoy more recorded, not live. I've been meaning to take a look at them for a while, guess I will. :)

They were bad live. I couldn't tell what was going on :p
From what I've heard of them recorded, I haven't liked them, but I'll look up that album when I can.

Umm I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this here, but does anyone know what to do when your old guitar string gets stuck in the headstock and it keeps the new string from coming out?

Any ideas on how to get it out?

Yes, Black Ice, releases tomorrow (20th). The songs I've heard on the radio have been pretty ok.
