My neighbor is trying to kill me

This could make for some interesting conversation so eh w/e.

Recently over the past few weeks my neighbor (around on the next block) has been harassing me and my friends for some unknown reason. Thing is, this guy's like 40. For some reason whenever he's outside and we pass he feels the need to confront me and I quote "you're a smartass kid; think you're cool because you smoke cigs?" Normally I wouldn't give two fucks and just walk past him because I know this guy has anger issues, or a very shitty life. If anything I'd pity him. But today I was walking up the street and he confronted me. He started with the whole smartass bull and then began asking me where I lived. At this point I was like "what can this guy do? I have witnesses of him harassing me for no reason" So I told him my address. Now he says "Well I can't touch you, but my cousin is 16 and he's a black belt. We're going to pay you a visit and he's going to fuck you up"

Now still I don't care but now I have leverage. This guy threatened me. I may be the only witness but I decided to contact my local police department and file a complaint. I plan to stop by headquarters and write up a statement. I hope he shows up at my house so I can just call the cops and nail him there.

Anyone get situations like this? Or am i a person who randomly emits "smart ass" all over the place?

Never had that happen to me, but you could probably get a restraining order so that if he confronts you again he'll be arrested or some shit.

There's a public transit light rail right by where my apartments are, so there are always those self righteous Dick heads that hang out there.

Hurting that guy would only help him so he could sue me. If there was ever a legit problem I wouldn't leave anyone left to sue. In a self defense case though, my friend owns a .357 magnum. As inhumane as it would be to shoot him with that, it'd sure put on a show.

Oh yea, this is most likely just a bluff. Some Kinda scare tatic... And if he actually does bring his 16 year old to beat you up... I will pay you one million dollars.

get a gun and a blunt object wait for him to say something about killing you then you would be in the clear to attack with deadly force wait for a weapon to be drawn to pull the gun have a knife on you as well till then try not to butt heads with the guy too much and if possible just avoid the possibility of even seeing him

Get an audio recorded and have it record when you are walking down the street, that or a friend in a video camera with you having a mic. that would be funny to show in court.

No, you wouldn't. Someone threatening you does not give you legal right to attack them. If there is no clear and present danger, you have absolutely no ability to do anything, let alone murder them. You would easily be tried and convicted of murder if you killed someone for verbally threatening you. I really hope you were joking, because if not, that is the most horrendous distortion of the law I have ever seen, and you are advocating murder based on false pretenses.

What the fork is this Shit? It seems to me that he's looking for a fight? Being a Rabble rouser, if you will. Is that all? Is he angry at you for smoking or what? Did you step on his lawn and eat his prunewhip?

Something ain't right with this at all. I will say you didn't do very well your self. You gave him your address?? WHY? Why didn't you didn't ask what was wrong? What do your parents think?

Legally, if a man threatens you, you do have a right to take legal action. I see it from time to time in my Dad's firm. I would recommend calling the police department and telling them that this man harasses you from time to time and has even started threatening you. I don't recall exactly what legal action can be taken aside from a restraining order, but the Police can still help. They'll at least be aware.

Edit: Yeah, giving him your address wasn't exactly the best thing to do.

Im guessing he calls you a fag because the way you look and not him seeing you do something faggy. If you look faggy then thats a bad sign. You never wanna look faggy. Maybe the douche is hitting on you and wants a hit of your ciggy. Anyways if this ever happen to me I would just beat the dudes ass.

In all defense you should stick with filing the police report and if the police dont help and the guy finds out you actually went to the police. I don't think we will see another post from you my friend.

Exactly, just ignore the pathetic old fuck. Unless your nervous, then file for a restraining order. That way, the next time he bothers you, all you have to do is call the cops and have him arrested. One less asshole out of everyone's hair.

Of course not. I would go to the police and tell them exactly what's going on. Even if you are annoying him, he shouldn't be threatening you like this. Or do what the guy in my village did, and get your dog to scare him away. And I'm being serious about this. The dog was really small, too.
