Marketplace now shows significantly less items on screen, meaning more scrolling to find what you want, which is stupid. Functionality can be achieved without reducing convenience.
Games is nay better nor worse.

Zero improvement has been presented.
Agreed.

If the in-game (home?) button runs faster I'll be happy.. I don't spend time doing anything in the dash.

Eh...
It's not as if the current themes aren't completely covered up anyway (even worse than this... there's crap blocking the entire picture, on here the top is almost completely clear, but the bottom completely covered, it's a trade-off, that's all), and not to be Mr. Obvious, but you aren't really scrolling any more than you would have to originally, you just see less..

It's not so bad. Don't get me wrong, the main dashboard still sucks. I just like the marketplace/game sections.

I use the triggers to scroll quickly through the items. The trigger skips the current set and moves on to the next set. With visible items being like 8 or whatever it is now, I skip 8, but with the new dashboard, I'll be skipping half of that, meaning I will have to scroll twice as much as I do now.

That's true. However I'm not going to decide right now whether or not it's going to be bad or good. What we're seeing here is hardly set in stone. For instance, these lists might be expandable; we're only seeing 3 things in the list right now but there might only be 3 things in there. If there were more it might adapt to that in some way shape or form. Or not. No way of knowing, so whatever..

Ive seen the picture of the NXE with a custom theme in the back. It seems it takes one of the pics and uses it as a background... What about the other 3 pics that come with it....

You might see them in the other menu list things (switching from, say Games to Community, etc)... don't know what they're called. Or not, it doesn't seem likely as it would kill the flow of the menu if you added a changing background in.

As for Halo announcement... :(... I wanted Oni 2

Oh and Merc's 2 looks freakin' awesome.

I've had to post this 30 times.
This thread isn't for Bungie discussion, and there is no thread for Bungie discussion, because there is no news. What news is there? "Halo." The end. That is not an E3 announcement, and does not belong in the E3 thread.

Hehe I went out and bought Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie on N64 just so I don't have to wait to play it on XBLA.

I know Banjo-Tooie isn't coming to XBLA (Not yet anyway...), I just want to refresh my memory for Nuts and Bolts.

It's even in my sig. I thought that would help cut down with some of the Bungie postings. Oh well...

Anyways, I actually think that it's a pretty cool idea with the themes. Although, I do think that it should be optional because of all the controversy.

I DO NOT, however, like the Marketplace. I, too, scroll with the right trigger, and I already feel like I have to press it too many times.

The themes would be infinitely better if that gray plane was transparent instead.

So don't use the triggers? Scrolling with the analog sticks works great as well, as it speeds up a bit once you've started scrolling. Honestly if this is the only reason you don't like the marketplace that's pretty sad. I hated the old marketplace for other reasons and they were fixed here.

As for Halo, all avenues for discussing the Halo business were conveniently closed, so I see no problem with posting a couple updates here (it may not be at E3 but it's still happening during it..) and there in here. What Insane (believe it was him) posted was new and it was not senseless speculation, which was the only reason the other threads were closed. Not a lot of discussion was necessary, it was only a brief comment and I think that was fine. It's better than creating a thread for such a small announcement.

GoW2 does sound good...However I just can't really hype myself up for it. It'll be fun...I dunno
Fable 2, Geometry wars 2 and Banjo Kazooie...OOoooh man, I'm going to have some fun with those.

fable 2 i am looking forward to a lot. :P I just need to make sure Darkshalfall never plays online coop with me, he would kill my family.

The dashbord i have mixed fealings about. It is interesting to see that microsoft is trying to change the apearance but without any customization.... i just kinda ruins it.

The Force Unleashed looked awesome, as did Fable 2, GoW 2, Fallout 3, Farcry 2... it'll sort of be a fun fall.

EDIT: Can't forget Left 4 Dead, I fucking love zombie games.
