my first discussion

hi everybody!
while searching about modding i found this forum! And i think is the place where i can learn how to mod halo 2!
first i would tell you that i know something but not a lot!
i have a modded xbox with media center dashboard instead of the original one, an halo 2 iso and the dvd, halo 2 folders, a pc of course!
but i know that ftp connection would be useful: but i haven't got it and i can't get it(so please don't tell me like other modders that i need to get ftp!).
i want to make a modded halo 2 pack in a dvd!
well my real problem is not how to mod maps!
it's how to put them in the dvd!
i tried to do this 20 times wasting a lot of dvds: at first the game didn't start, then i understood i had to resign map and i did it with tf6, but even if the mainmenu starts a modded map not!
i'll tell you what i did: i copied all halo 2 folders in another folder, then i deleted the single player maps and left only the multiplayer maps and mainmenu, shared and single player shared, i opened dothalo and skinned something of lockout then i saved(i noted that all maps had the new skins i put, maybe this is the problem?)!
i opened coagulation in entity alpha 1 and moved all teleporters from their position and the rocket launcher and the sniper rifle!
then i saved and i put the water to coagulation!
then i fixed everything and made an image with a program called qwix!
then i burned a dvd and i put it in the xbox 1!
the mainmenu started and all reskinned maps(only two skins different i haven't modded a lot of skins!) without coagulation the one where i moved objects and put the water and the one i want to play with!
i don't know what has happened so i started searching on the internet!
i found this forum about halo mods and i think that you can help me!
maybe there are too much mods in coagulation but i do not think so because there are map packs with maps extremely modded and doesn't happened anything!(KILTROCITY V 2 FOR EXAMPLE! i have it on a dvd and it works)

i looked when he surfed on the net on this site and i decided to create my account!
if you want i won't talk but i would be happy if you would help me!
i have media center i told you now what should i do?

Yeah, Kibito. Using all lowercase and ending every sentence with an exclamation mark happens to run in the family. How could they be the same person when the topic is called "my first discussion"?

Look, buddy. What you really, really want to do is FTP to your Xbox. I don't know why you say you can't get it. It sounds like you simply refuse to. "How do I wash a window using a potato? I know it's easier with a rag but I don't have a rag and can't get one! Tell me how to use the potato! Also I can only use grape juice and not water!" You just need a cable and Internet Explorer. It's faster and cheaper than using DVDs. It allows you to try different mods much more quickly, it makes maps load faster, and it avoids any problems related to creating or reading a disc. If you manage to get this working, you will have a blast making bright pink warthogs that fly and a shotgun that shoots 20 rockets and changing the jump height so you can jump on top of the buildings in Headlong. All of these things will take trial and error, and you don't want to make a DVD every time you change something, do you?

Spend your time and energy trying to figure out FTP . It's worth it.

To address your problems more specifically:
A lot of things that you change in a map can make it fail to load or freeze your game. Try changing only one or two little things at a time.

I think the very first thing you should do, after you get FTP working, is try to make a direct copy of your Halo 2 disc (which you legally paid for) without any mods at all. Modded maps don't cause dirty disc errors. Just verify that you can create a working DVD without any mods. If you get that working, then try to get one mod working. Open coagulation.map in DotHalo. Swap the projectile of the smg to the banshee bomb (look in the Tutorials section if you aren't sure how to do this). Don't make any other changes to the map. Click the Fix Encryption button in DotHalo. Resign the map. Then make a DVD that has this modded coagulation.map, named coagulation.map, in the maps folder with all the other maps. Leave all the other files and folders exactly the same as they are on the retail disc. Do not delete anything. If your smg on Coagulation shoots banshee bombs, then you did it right. Get this one little mod working before you try additional mods.

I don't think there's anything else to be said that can help you. Try these things. And good luck with the potato.

If you copy Halo 2 on your box and cant get ftp to work for the world. Then take a CD RW and just put a few maps on it then put it in you Xbox DVD drive and copy the map off of that on to your hard drive and replace the map in you Halo 2 on your box. Then use the same method over and over because its a CD RW.
