Few Questions

Post by Dereka67 »

I know "noobs" should search and find their own answers, but I couldn't find a strait answer. So here are my questions.

1) Do you have to have a modded map on both Xboxs for the system-link to work or just the "host" Xbox? (I have one Xbox with Halo 2 on the HDD then the other Xboxes are running the game strait from the game disk. I have the Xbox with the modded maps as the "host" and sometimes all Xboxes will load the modded map then other times the "host" Xbox will be modded and the others will be normal.)

2) Is there a way to create a map installer like the Multi-player Map Pack Disk that you could buy from Bungie? You know have the "installer" install maps that you chose to the Xbox HDD. That way you could have basicly the same map more then once but each with a different skin and mods.

Thanks for any help.

Some mods will work when the host and clients don't have the same map, but there are heavy limitations. I'm not exactly certain what they are, but if you want to run any mod of better-than-baseline quality, all players will need to have the mod.

I believe someone made a DLC installer (check the Utilities section), but it was not at all clear to me how to use it, and it's not necessary anyway. You can have as many instances of a map as you want. All you have to do is give the maps different names and add each one to the main menu (use Menu Menu Menu, again in the Utilities section).
Retired. Thank you neodos, DemonicSandwich, DarkShallFall, Dragonfire, foxfanatic2317, GOWO and everyone in the hall of fame.
If you want to know how I did something, take apart my mods.
