I don't know how many people of you can relate, but I am a sound tech in my Stage Crew Class.
My Rant: Unnecesarry Mic Checks. During rehearsals, the Various Techs(Sound, Lighting, Spotlights, Grips, etc.) get their stuff dialed in and ready to go on the show. Everything we have done is ran by the director of the talent, (In this case, a Choir Teacher who has this severe god Complex and a major Elitist problem, and a Band Director who has too good of a music background for anyone anymore.) and everything is given the OK and cleared. Now, on the day of the show, they have the sudden urge to run a soundcheck 30 minutes before the house opens and audience members start to come in. Now, they expect a comltetely different sound from what we rehearsed the past week, and think everything sounds wrong and expects it to be changed. People not Being in the Monitors, Some louder than others, etc. Now, the way they do this, is to give thw wireless choir mics to everyone and have them all shout "CHECK CHECK CHECK" into the mics. so now everyone is off level, and sound horrible from what we did days prior. So now all of that is sorted, the show starts.

Now, the Choir files on stage, and I unmute all of the mics. them thinking I'm not doing my job, they all procede to (On teacher's orders) to Tap the mics, and say "Check" again. now, Kids being unprofessional idiots start yelling CHECK CHECK CHECK into the Mics loudly, to the point where the Mics pick up feedback and start to hum and squeal throught a pakced audiences and makes us look bad.

Forgot to say. My brother was held up at gun point last night. Some 16 year old kid robbed him and his friend for a total gain of $36. Luckily, they caught the kid and no one was harmed. God, I hate this area.

What'd you expect? Don't you listen to Guns 'n' Roses?

You're in the jungle baby!! YOU'RE GONNA DIIIIIIEEEEEEEE

Joking. But I agree. My cousin was killed for his phone when I was 6, and I was there with him. They caught the guy, but it still sucks. :/

I can't imagine the phone was amazing if it was so distant in the past.

That's awful, for both of you. :?
EDIT: Oh yeah, I have mild influenza symptoms. Fun, but not as fun as tetanus, I'm sure. :P

Aw, nuts. Torrent downloading is causing our stupid VoIP to function erratically. And the thing is, I'm only getting like 40KB/s on the damn thing. So, I really can't download it during the day when my parents use the phone, and since my dad gets up before me, I can't leave it on overnight because the phone will screw up again before I wake up and he'll quickly find my torrent. He even knows the cause of the slowdown is coming from my computer, just not what is causing it, so I just have to keep uTorrent hidden away for a long time and find a day when NO ONE is using the phone (in other words, never).

I get an average of 800kb/s download and with most torrents I get around 25kb/s download. I maxed out at 325kb/s one time and it was like a 5mb file.

I just received this E-Mail from my grandfather's friend.
Normally, I would not share this with others, However,

since this could happen to you or your friends , I decided
to share it. If you purchase something from, Wal-Mart,
Sam's Club, JC Penny, Sears etc. If you return the item
with the receipt. They will give you your money back if
you paid cash, or credit your account if paid by plastic.

Well, I purchased a GPS for my car, a Tom Tom XL.S from
"Best Buy". They have a policy that it must be returned
within 14 days for a refund!

So after 4 days I returned it in the original box with all
the items in the box, with paper work and cords all
wrapped in the plastic. Just as I received it, including
the receipt.

I explained to the lady at the return desk I did like the
way it could not find store names. The lady at the refund
desk said, there is a 15% restock fee, for items returned.
I said no one told me that. I said how much would that be.
She said it goes by the price of the item. It will be
$45.00 Dollars for you. I said, all your going to do is
walk over and place it back on the self! Then charge me
$45.00 of my money for restocking!! She said that's the
store policy. I said if more people were aware of it they
would not buy anything here! If I bought a $2000.00
computer or TV and returned it I would be charged $300.00
dollars restock fee!! She said yes, 15%.

I said OK, just give me my money minus the restock fee.
She said, since the item is over 200.00 dollars, she cant
give me my money back!!!

Corporate has to and they will mail you a check in 7 to
ten days.!! I said "WHAT?!"

It's my money!! I paid in cash! I want to buy a different
brand..Now I have to wait 7 to 10 days. She said well, our
policy is on the back of your receipt.

I said, do you read the front or back of your receipt? She
said well, the front! I said so do I, I want to talk to
the Manager!.

So the manager comes over, I explained everything to him,
and he said, well, sir they should of told you about the
policy when you got the item. I said, No one, has ever
told me about the check refund or restock fee, when ever I
bought items from computers to TVs from Best Buy. The only
thing they ever discussed was the worthless extended
warranty program. He said Well, I can give you corporate
phone number.

I called corporate. The guy said, well, I'm not supposed
to do this but I can give you a 45.00 dollar gift card and
you can use it at Best Buy. I told him if I bought
something and returned it, you would charge me a restock
fee on the item and then send me a check for the remaining
3 dollars. You can keep your gift card, I'm never shopping
in Best Buy ever again, and If I would of been smart, I
would of charged the whole thing on my credit card! Then I
would of canceled the transaction.

I would of gotten all my money back including your
stupid Fees! He didn't say a word!

I informed him that I was going to e-mail my friends and
give them a heads up on this stores policy, as they don't
tell you about all there little caveats

So please pass this on. It may save your friends from
having a bad experience of shopping at Best Buy.

"Whitten also told us that there would be no spring dashboard update for Xbox 360 owners this year, saying that resources were instead focused on "building the proper infrastructure and scale for the service." There will however be a change to DRM policy and a tool released next month that will allow 360 owners to re-license content to a single console--finally fixing the issue that forced gamers playing XBLA games to be connected to Xbox LIVE if their 360 broke down and was replaced."

The policy is given directly to the customer. Saying "I don't read the back" is not a valid argument. Ignorance is not an excuse to blame other people for something within your control. This is just an example of an ignorant person trying to capitalize on a situation they are distorting to fit their chain email bullshit. Furthermore, anyone with half of a brain should be able to comprehend that it is very unlikely to walk into a retail store and expect them to hand over several hundred dollars in cash.
