Still have your warranty? If not it isn't too hard to fix yourself.

The warranties for all consoles were extended three years from date of purchase. With the release of the console being November 22, 2005, all consoles are covered until November 22, 2008 for the RROD.

Now, I'm not sure how warrantys work, but if you have to send it in and get a new one back because of the rrod, is the three year warranty renewed? Or is it still November 22, 2008?

It would still be three years from the initial purchase of the original console. Also, it's not 3 years from the release date (Unless you bought it on day 1, of course). I bought mine 11/14/06, so my warranty lasts until 11/14/09, and so on for each person's purchase* date.

Ahh well.
So eventually, we'll all have to buy a new console, because of the Rrod, and the non-renewing warranty...

The failure rates on the newer consoles are reducing with each new chipset they've been bringing out.

I realized I just wasted the last year and a half with some girl who all along was in love with somebody else =\
But I still hear the deafening drums of war onward every twisted spoke

As I said before, there are ways to fix Rrod yourself. But if your warranty ends and you get Rrod, feel free to give the console to me instead.

Haha, fat chance. I'll just wrap it in a towel and turn it on for hours. Or... wait, was it that I'm supposed to rub toothpaste all over the console...

Falcon motherboard failure rates are still surprisingly high, although who knows for never revisions..
