Oh, that just made a connection, I never saw that before. It actually makes a lot of sense now, seeing as Halo has a lot stuff that's religious-based.

Well, the Halos are a reference to the angel's halos, the Ark is a reference to Noah's ark, the Flood are a reference to the flood that covered the Earth. The ark saved them from the flood, in both the religion and the game.
