Or you could just use XSATA/put it on your hard drive, which would be so much easier than burning a shit load of discs. You still have to put it in the container on the disc, so you still need the container resigner either way. There is no difference, at all, between playing from the disc or from the hard drive. Everything must be done either way.

i have xport

xport = xsata and were made from the same company. anyway, you need to resign it even if you burn it to a cd/dvd?? my bad, i guess that idea would only work if you had a devkit to run unsigned code and whatnot.

how about you just not worry about modding the screenshots? Bungie WILL start banning for it so theres no point in doing it.

Chances are they still have a hash of their own. A CRC at the least to make sure that the file copied correctly.

They obviously aren't as protected as the main Halo 3 map files if we can successfully run them.

hows that? I can run the main Halo 3 map files just fine. I know exactly how the security works for both. the difference is I have some other private keys different then the map files..

I wasn't meaning something like a full-blown RSA protection or anything like that. I was just meaning something like in halo 2 where it was simply a CRC checksum to make sure it copied correctly. Halo 3 could copy the file to the 360, but unless it has something like that, it can't be sure that the copy was correct.

The game could simply check the container's hash to verify that it copied correctly.

I have a question:

Is there a way to unlock all armour (not the Bungie stuff) on offline profiles for LAN parties and that? I considered copying my Halo 3 profile data to another profile on my hard drive, but when I opened it up in a hex editor, my profile name was quite near the top. Obviously that needs changing if I want it to work on another profile, and that would mean resigning is neccessary, which, untill some idiot leaks out a program to everyone, isn't going to happen. Perhaps some people wouldn't mind resigning a few profiles after unlocking the armour though, or maybe even changin the profile name to include some cool symbols like a Splaser medal, similar to profile mods in Halo 2. I don't know... what do you think?

Those who can't play, mod.
And those who can't mod, mod PC.

I don't think so. It's up to those people, whatever they want to do. Plus, you don't need any of that stuff to have fun during a LAN party. Just play with the default armor or unlock it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think athony hacked the armour for a profile on system link and local, but when he went on LIVE the servers took it away for him, but a profile that has them for local and system link is possible...

I think

There should be no issue with modifying the profile to have the armor offline. There's no reason to believe it would not work. And yes, someone did access the Recon variants as well as the Bungie chest offline.

Wouldn't you need private tools?
