3 is good and 3.1 sucks, way to many bugs and you can't rebuild a map without going through abunch of crap.

water problems

Post by frozenflames »

I have a prob that whenever there is a river in a level(battle creek or casualty george) there is no water. I can hear it, but there is no visable water. This only happens in CE and only in rivers( i can c the ocean in Death Island). Any ideas. I dont have the best graphics card, but it works in normal halo. Plz help

its probably the shader technology used in CE, the only way for you to be able to see the water is to get a better graphics card that supports pixel shader 2.0 or above, maybe 1.4 would do but don't quote me on that

at the end of ur halo CE shortcut put

-use20

so it'll look like this

"<drive>:/Microsoft Games/Halo Custom Edition/haloce.exe" -use20

Note: if you wanna have the console runnin, u add -console BEFORE -use20.

that just enables vresion 2.0 of shadin.
That won't work if the card doesn't support it. If he can't see it already thats not going to help at all.

I don't have the best video card... but Halo still runs. I don't see water on the one new MP map that someone made, with the deep water that ghosts stall in... I think I see water in Battle Creek, but I don't remember. My water just looks really murky/nasty/different in Death Island. :?

It was a shader that was left out or something, gearbox should fix this with the next patch.

correction its not a shader that was left out but something else. This is true because if the shader itself was missing then no one could see it. It just has something to do with Fixed Function cards.
