help needed with the retarded CE Dedicated Server

Post by [STD]Spanky »

I run a small dedicated server from my PC for my mates to join when they are online and play Halo, only problem is, with the Halo CE Dedicated Server, I don't seem to be able to join the game I'm hosting, and its really pissing me off, I suspect its something to do with the ports,
any one got any idea on how I can resolve this please?

2302 UDP is the port you need to just host a regular internet game but are you running "haloded.exe" on the same computer as you're running Halo CE? I don't know why you would want to do that but you need to open the ports for "haloded.exe" as well as "haloce.exe".

yeah i'm running both gme and server on same computer at same time, so I can join my mates in a game and have admin privelages that I wouldn't in regular hosted game, my computers on a network but I have the udp ports open on the internet gateway computer, i shoul dprobably forward em to my computer but I have been able to join games hosted on my computer before with this set-up, I just don't understand why it very rarely lets me do this

You can have admin privileges when you're hosting a regular game, too.
