Halo 2 Map Transfer Help

Post by u_killed_meepy »

OK, I don't have any way to FTP, no DVD drives, and my Xbox will not read any CD-RW disc I buy. I usually transfer with my AR 8MB Memory Card with split RAR files (you need ALOT of patience to do this, trust me  ), so if there is any way, how can i split RAR files on my Xbox? If it's impossible, are there any other ways to get maps on my computer, like download Halo 2 via Torrent (I'm not sure if I should mention torrents here...) or any other way, please let me know... :(
eh..... what?

You cannot run Winrar on an Xbox. FTP is the ONLY way to do map transfers. Sorry. :( And downloading Halo 2 in any way is illegal. The only legal way is to get them off of your own disk.

If you have a computer, then you can FTP. Go out and buy a "Crossover" Ethernet Cable.

Plug one end into the back of your Xbox and the other into the back of your computer. Then, you'll be able to FTP.

Acually you can on XBMC.

I don't have a crossover cable but i do have a straight through, i HAVE done FTP before but here is why i claimed i cannot do it.

1. It took me about 3 hours for both XBOX and PC to connect (PC via USB and Xbox via Straight Through Ethernet cord)

2. After I finished FTP'ing my Xbox, my digital phone, cable, and internet shut down for a couple days, I have attempted again afterwards, but now both PC and Xbox won't connect via FTP at the same time but i CAN use XBConnect or XLink Kai and use the internet on PC, whenever I try to FTP, all I get is "Cannot establish connection, please try again later." with every FTP software and even FTP'ing using Windows/Internet Explorer gives me the same thing, so my folks won't let me connect to FTP anymore because of what happened.

I am planning on saving and getting a wireless router and a crossover someday but i'm still wondering if using a wireless router will screw up my connections through the house like that again.

One more thing, I forgot to say, i DO have my own Halo 2 Disc, so its pretty much legal for me to use torrents to download Halo 2 since the law says that backup game downloads are legal.

You cannot legally backup a game own it or not. Check the EULA(I believe its called) its included with the game. You are allowed one copy of the game. That copy is your disk.
Don't be.
