Attatching?

Post by preston566 »

Hello, I'm working on a map for Halo.
I have imported a statue into the scene, and I want to make it look
real old, so it will be fallen over. But I want to make it look like
its "half buried in the sand". Ya know, like in one of those end of the
world movies where half the Statue of Liberty is still pointing out?

Very Sorry if this is too vague, and I still don't know how to upload
images to imagesshack or something. Which I'd also appreciate knowing
.

Thanks,
Preston556

If you want to bury it I think you will need to cut away that part you want to bury. Then attach it and then create faces around it. But you might want someone else to tell you. Cause I'm not really pro (yet) :D

yeah, if you plan on burying it in the ground, you're gonna have to delete the part you plan on having underground. then you'll have to delete the ground around the statue and create new faces that attach the remaining part of the statue to the rest of the ground.

I'm not sure how experienced you are, but you can also always make the statue into scenery and put it into the ground in sapien. it doesn't necessarily look as great but it gets the job done.

Thank you. I think I may have to go ahead and make it scenery.
I have literaly like 12,000 vertices that I would have to make
faces for. So could you kindly point me in to a tutorial on how
to make the object scenery? I never could find it.

Thanks,

Thanks for the help. But I 'm kinda slow when it comes to
following certain tutorials. Very slow. It's a good tutorial, don't
get me wrong. It's just he/she has way to many shortcuts they use,
and I have never seen Tool used that way. Nor did it work for me.
If you have anything else (tutorials), please tell me. If you don't,
Thanks anyway,
