Look at the page I provided.
To connect your console to your computer, just plug the supplied cable into the High Speed USB port on the back of XSATA and into any spare USB port on your PC. XSATA is USB 2.0-compatible, so you can expect ultra-fast transfer speeds of up to 480mbps. It looks great too, with blue laser light giving a real cool edge to your gaming machine.

from what I can see, the Xsata either isn't popular or has been discontinued... it's no longer listed on Datel's site and it's not on eBay

I never liked XSATA becuase it runs off the HDD and in some ways that can hurt it.

I was told you needed more than xSata to be able to extract the .map files(atleast the campaign ones). As far as I understand it, xSata just links your HDD to your computer but the Halo 3 campaign files are Not in the HDD

That's what i'm saying although the Downloaded map pack maps should be there as they were on the regular xbox. So what's the point of xSata then if it can't extract maps

So you can't just pop your disc into you dvd drive and take the maps off of it?

So... Do you absolutely need XSATA to mod Halo 3 Maps?
Or is there another way to transfer the files... Or maybe a website that has the files stored?

Modding Halo 3 maps is pointless right now with no resigner. It's even more pointless if you can't get them back to your 360 because you don't have XSATA or something like it.

You cannot get any maps besides the DLC ones with XSata...

You can use Xport, even though it is essentially the same thing. And it would be illegal to host the maps as they are copyrighted.
