H2 mod idea *H3 armor?*

Post by Morph »

Yeah I got an idea for H2 modding n such. I don't know if anyone has thought of this or already done it or is working on it.

Well in Halo 3 there are helmets, right/left shoulders, and chest plates.

Well why doesn't anyone try to make a skins pack with all of the elite and spartan H3 armor? Like the hayabusa helmet with recon shoulders and whatever chest plate. Like fully customizable. I know it might take a long time but hey just an idea.

It isnt a skin, and even if you could inject variations. Choosing them wouldnt be possible.

You wouldn't exactly be injecting.... just modeling.

Your lack of knowledge about this is disturbing Cougar. If you have no clue about what you want, please educate yourself before you post about it.

You would need to change the biped variation in the map file and in the main menu. Unless...I don't recall but if you changed it in the shared.map and in the main menu...it might work. I'm out of the loop when it comes to the map mechanics.

The hlmt variations cannot be choosen with a button on mainmenu, that's not possible, per exampel the marines hlmt variations are setup with the ai on scnr and/or scripts.

If I recall correctly if you add anything to the main menu you will have to redo the rawpointers for all the maps.

The attachment is most likely the only effecient method of doing this, however the characters shader would not change color with the armore of the character itself.

If the new models shader was the MCarmor shader, then wouldnt it change as long as there was a custom color change map to go with it?

turns out that if you can get the model looking good enough and fix the shader for it enough it would look great, however it still wouldn't change with the armor.
-_-

That is irrelevant to this thread. Also, how much you know about modding is inexcusable. There are plenty of tutorials for each platform to get a LARGE head start. There is also a tech support and help desk here for anything you may not know.

/off topic discussion.

IDEA:

Export the current spartan armor

Import to your favorite modeling program

Export/translate back to format needed for halo2

Import and build back into halo2

(this would provide for accurate sizing and locating nodes and such)

Fix the mainmenu to be able to use these as different variations..There would be a lot of variations I would assume.
My current personal sig is discontinued for the purpose of more important things. Click DONATE to save halomods to be directed to halomods main page where the paypal button is to donate.
Want a cool t-shirt? Here they are.
