Yeah, I'm guessing they were having 'technical problems' or something, because it kept cutting out to like, movie trivia shit.

I think Noobraska is a pretty cool state. eh grows corn and doesn't afraid of anythng.

At the credits ending of Cloverfield, *spoilers* the audio from the video cam says, "Help us!".
But when played backwards, it says, "It's still alive!" This happens after the end credits
of Cloverfield. Assuming the speaker was Rob, he suggests Cloverfield (the monster)
is still alive. This also suggests a sequel for Cloverfield 2! *Spoilers*
The Japanese oil company TAGRUATO drops a satellite (Chimpanz III) into the ocean as part
of viral marketing (shown at the end of the movie when Rob and Beth were on the ferris wheel).
TAGRUATO works with SLUSHO (a slush company), as the main ingredient for SLUSHO is found
at the satellite dropzone (deep ocean). While searching for satellite and ingredients, they
woke Cloverfield (the monster).
People who were at the party in the beginning of the movie, were seen wearing SLUSHO shirts.
Rob apparently was going to be the Vice President of TAGRUATO in Japan.
The main ingredient of Slusho apparently turns a tiny fish into a HUGE whale in Ganu's (he found the nectar) dream, which explains the size of Cloverfield. *Update* The main ingredient is a deep sea nectar.
*Update* Because the ingredient was discovered on the deep ocean floor, under amazing
pressure and in the most extreme cold, Ganu knew he had to serve the ingredient in a
near frozen state to preserve its freshness. Thus the idea of Slush (Slusho)!
For animals/fishes/insects to survive in the deepest ocean (very high boiling temperature),
they naturally have very high heat resistance. This explains how Cloverfield is able to
withstand numerous bombs and attacks from the army.
Cloverfield refers to the field formerly known as Central Park. Clovers are
usually prone to grow at places after bombing. Thus the term "Clover" and "field" referring to park.
*Update* Slusho is a very addictive drink, with signs of steroid drug like effects. Makes
people stronger, constantly happy, have happy dreams and finally... "SLUSHO
makes my stomach explode with happy!!" (Remember Marlena's stomach?)

Marlena... I believe she was the one who exploded after the bite correct? That wasn't due to Slusho!. I don't believe Slusho! went public yet (indication of this is I payed attention to the bottles everyone was drinking out of at the party and it was just beer and such, the only Slusho! logo I saw was on shirts), and the only person we know of who drank Slusho! is the girl at the party who was passed out on the couch (I forgot her name), who had gotten a sample from her boyfriend who discovered something bad about the drink and the company.
So they got that part wrong from what I know of so far.

Well since I finally felt like seeing it I can now read this topic. Anyways my opinion is this is an awesome movie and it felt like it was really happening. I was wondering why they would be carrying a camera around the whole movie but then it made sense. I really liked this movie but I don't get how people could go see this more than twice it ain't that good IMO.
Marlena's stomach did explode, I looked out for that because I read the last few posts in this thread to see what people though but tried to avoid spoilers but ended up reading that. I also remember a guy was being brought in and his stomach was a hole and the doctors said, "Another bite".
Anyways good movie I suggested watching it if you haven't already. I'm 11 days behind. :p

I understood it enough to enjoy the movie without knowing of all the in depth things that are put out on the internet. The only reason I even looked into it was because I just wanted to know more. It doesn't take anything out of the movie really if you don't know everything about it, they kept just enough out to keep it enjoyable.

It's not a case of not understanding the Movie without the ARG and Viral stuff, more of a case of the Movie not having an actual plot without looking further into on the internet, which I would imagine about 90% of people won't do.
I like things to be explained when I see movies, without looking here it was just a pointless action film.

The only thing not explained in the movie is the monster's origin. Where were they expected to work that into the plot?iGeo wrote:It's not a case of not understanding the Movie without the ARG and Viral stuff, more of a case of the Movie not having an actual plot without looking further into on the internet, which I would imagine about 90% of people won't do.
Flashback to monster waking up.
o hay wuts goin on in nyc SDFHDFFSD RAWR
It wasn't necessary to explain it. Even without the ARG, it wasn't necessary. The movie's setting was not the appropriate time to just shove the backstory into the face of the viewer. That would make the movie terrible.
