Pure idiocy. It matches up with the general population.

Ah, true. True.

I guess the same idiocy makes people see things like this gem I found on iTunes:

Just because I said it was my opinion doesn't mean I stole your opinion. :3

I was joking, too many people saying it was terrible I had to say it.

It looks absolutely terrible. The trailer was all I needed to see, the rest of the movie I predict to be failure.

Because random britney potshots, offcue bush iz bad lol jokes and stupid ass consumers with fat pockets gives these people the chance to make bank off of this crap. Thats why they constantly make them. Theres money in parodies. of course none of these products are on the same tier as some of the greater ones(see: Mel Brooks) and people will pay for it. That's why we're graced with such movies such as Scary Movie 1-4, Epic Movie, Date Movie, and now this, to be forever looped in Afternoon movies on Comedy Central. values and artistic quality and good writing in film are long gone. It's all about what story can destroy wallets. By content, this movie isn't even worth going on various P2P clients/Programs and stealing it. It's not worth the few days to get it. Just steal it from the bootleg vendor along with a bluedisk copy of Soul Plane.

It's a tricky angle they play though. They make a watered down PG-13 movie now to bank off of the Teen buck, then rake in the older crowd with the Unrated on DVD with the promise of language and tits.

That was worded beautifully. And I love Mel Brooks; I'd take his movies over current day movies any day.

I wish parodies like Major Payne came out as much. I mean, the Wayans' brothers were great, they were original.

This? This is crap. I'm just surprised that it got $18,700,000, even though, I shouldn't be. America's taste in comedy has degraded so much, they'll laugh at anything. Then, if their friend thinks it's funny, but they don't, they'll conform and like it too.

The answer to your big surprise is the demographic of viewers. 75% was Young adults. It's not like the people that were watching this are going to sip lattes and say how in retrospect The Catcher and the Rye was disappointing. Bottom line is, poop jokes sell.
