What next?
Ok, since my latest mod (hangar 18) was a gigantic fail in the fact I couldn't do the SP->MP right, I don't know what to do next. I teamed up with orion warrior but we havn't seemed to be doing much. I need a new mod to work on, possible a continuation... I'll let you decide.

Do something new. Just because you failed something doesnt mean you should give up, I never got a SP-MP either, cant figure out why, I get the BSP converted but it crashes and deletes my spawn points. So then I moved on to try CE and failed, now Im going back and trying CE again.
Basically, dont let one door close and then assume there's not another one in front of you. Look a little bit, and you'll find what you want to do. It's not what we want, its what you do. Why put a ton of work into something so everyone else can enjoy it if you dont like it. Do your own mod, and if people dont like it, and you do, screw them.

if your sick of it then leave. tbh, no one is going to miss your pressence due to you constantly complaining of how you cant mod. if you being with a negative attitude then only expect the worse. ive tried to help you and give you guidance but like any parent would their own kids its time for me to "kick you out the house" so to speak. you need to find your own path and do whats right for you. kicking you out the house is meaning im tired of helping someone who wont help their self first.
tbh i didnt really care about the things youve said before but when your refering to us in the PC section as "modding a obsolete version of halo" then you kiddo have no idea what modding is even about period.
to be bluntly honest on what i think you should do next?
i think you need to find another game and hobby cause clearly you dont not have the skills technically and socially to mod halo or be a vital stronghold in the community if you have to constantly act the way you do.
i only feel pity for you cause if you decide to begin modding H3 since you got it for xmas, thoes people who are the leading edge of H3 modding will rip you verbally to shreds. you think our standards here in PC are high? they in H3 have been doing this from day 1 and are seriously tough to impress.
have fun slip in whatever you do but honestly im tired of the emo act.
disclaimer:
this is not a flame or meant to be viewed as a flame. its simply telling him how i feel on the topic question he imposed. i feel as ive helped him more then enough since he came here to warrant a scolding if you will and some blunt force reality.

Those people on the leading edge wont rip him to shreds, because they're the only people that can mod. Unless im mistaken, the very very few people who know how to re-sign maps havent released the info, so modding halo 3 isn't even possible for the public. Unless they've released the info just recently.pepsi wrote:i only feel pity for you cause if you decide to begin modding H3 since you got it for xmas, thoes people who are the leading edge of H3 modding will rip you verbally to shreds. you think our standards here in PC are high? they in H3 have been doing this from day 1 and are seriously tough to impress.

Great, how many more people do I gotta piss off before I have no freinds?
Huh... I'll feel blessed if I could release a mod everyone likes. I'm tired as I can get of starting from scratch, especially because I screw it up nine times out of ten. I'm not trying to be lazy by wanting to continue some of my mods, its just that they are the few successful rebuilds I have, and I can't stand going throught the whole process just to fail.
I don't want pity, I'm sick of it. It just makes me feel worse anyway, and I feel like a pile of shit allready. I've fully accepted the fact that I'm probably not cut out for this, and that all the crap I've made is lousy. Yet, I still mod for some reason, and I bet it's hurting my self esteem more. Part of me wants to stop, the other wants to keep going. I can't make up my mind, and I'm still working on these mods while I try to balance the pros and cons.
Damn, I wish I could start anew, so many enemies I've made, so many freinds I haven't. I don't think any mod I make will pull me out of this hole. I'm going to get working anyway, I guess I'm nuts.

Yeah, forge technically isn't modding because its something bungie gave to you with the game, so you're not doing anything contrary to what they intended on having you do.DeadHamster wrote:forge is not modding Halo 3 really, is it technically modding by definition of modifying the game, yeah sure, but it's not modding. It's like using a watered down version of sparkedit. Like tony hawk games, if you make a map in a tony hawk game, are you modding? no.
Though, I've done some really funny stuff with the forge, for example, getting the elephant to flip over.
