Straight foward answer

Post by TheNewbieTitan »

I have yet to find a straight foward answer on how to create my own skins for warthogs and stuff. If you know of a forum that already has this can you post a link to it here? thanks. And also how do Iget a Banshee into a level?

Ok, open the cache file you want in HMT and then go to Bitmaps and expand that section. Choose a pic, for example the warthog body one and click extract image. It extracts a .dds file while you can do one of two things to. The first is easier, if you have Adobe Photoshop get the DDS plugin and open it in that. If not find a DDS to jpg or gif converter at www.xbox-scene.com in the tools or programs section. Open the .dds or if you converted it the other file in an image editing program and make the skin. Then when you're done save it and if its converted make it into a dds again. Then open HMT one more time and go to the same warthog pic from before and click inject texture and choose the pic you edited.

To add a banshee you're going to need to follow pokecancer's model injection tutorial, but you'd probably be better off just doing a search for Allister's patch.

HMT = halo map tools
paint shop pro will work but you still need to find the dds plugin for it.
You can't just make maps, you can edit them though, to edit object locations, i.e. change where a tree or vehicle is in the level, use sparkedit, to change variables and such about the level either use halo cache editor from your xbox, or HMT. You need a modded xbox to do this stuff BTW.

use sparkedit to change the location of something in the map. If you want to add something to the map say the turret then you need to inject it using hmt, or sparkedit, not sure which, probly both. You can use dmauro's mods to inject turrets on the bases. The banshee has been done you can get the ppf to patch BG with from files.halomods.com
Or you can try to inject it yourself.

you didn't search very hard then. You can get to the sparkedit forum straight from the halomods.com/forums mainpage, also you can download it from files.halomods.com, or just search google.
