why would i want to do that? i want to encourage modding, not limit it and keep everything to myself.Dalek wrote:may i suggest when you release this you used Hek+ and protect your mapfile then map a patch?
not sure if that would work but should in theoroy.
sigh..
i was going to keep this for a surprise kinda but i might as well say something about it. a few pages ago i spoke of another download being offered with FTW remember? well, the plan is to take me and nessa's modding folders we have and release everything in once huge bitmap pack. it will have sub folders in it for cliff walls, bipeds, grass.. anything really.
the main point of all of this is to give new modders something to use to build their mods off of. then hopefully then will venture on their own and try new things. this is how i learned by studying quags skins and a few others seeing what they did then trying to take it to my own style. i think when your protect your content in a way its being selfish. i could understand protecting very custom tags in CE but i mean.. this is just halopc. no biggie right? just give credit where credit is due and nothing more.
im trying to do my best to help encourage modding on PC as well as showing people CE is PC to next level. look at it like this.. someone helped everyone here get started in some way so im trying to do my part to help thoes are actually serious about making mods. its all i can do really cause i refuse to make a mod for anyone. i learn the hard way through trial and error and so should others. its the only way you actually learn.
btw, damnation ftw

Someone has not been watching their QI. Water, believe it or not, is a fluid, like air.Dalek wrote:Water is not blue by default it refracts it colour from its surroundings.SuperSnorky wrote:Cool, but what I don't understand is why everyone matches the water with the sky, isn't water supposed to be blue in Halo?♠

For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.
well i took into account for the clouds, the suns flair, trying to make the water more clear and crisp and also making sure the suns light band would look correctly on the water to match the surroundings. i still think it looks spiffy.
