I'm going to change my name.

Before my next semester I think I'll have my name changed in my school records to be "Cougar Jackson"

I prefer going by Cougar as my first name online so I figure instead of having two names I should just let my cooler name win out, but at the same time keep the whole "Jackson" name open for use :p

Opinions?

BTW: Cougar is my legal middle name!

Changing a name in school is something I see as pointless. The only thing I've seen come out of such an act is students' ridicule and teachers' disrespect.

I think changing your name just because it's what people call you is kinda...well, for lack of a better word really, stupid. If you want people to call you that, they'll just call you that...introduce yourself and say "but I go by whatever". There's no point in changing what goes on records you'll never see or being able to write your new name on a piece of paper...woo?

If they call you that on a daily basis, whats the point in changing your name? Whether your name is Xiion or (insert your first name here or not) they will still be calling you Xiion. Well, the ones who call you that on a daily basis anyways.

Honestly Jackson, it doesn't matter on our opinions, because its a personal thing. Its YOUR name so it shouldn't matter what we think, but what you want. I think you should do whatever you want.

In elementary its all small really. But in college or highschool I would feel like the biggest faggot being called by an internet name.

As for me changing my name; I'll probably never get around to getting it "official". I just have been trying to change some stuff about myself and I really like the name Cougar as a nickname/main name. As for the jokes? Who cares; only people who don;t like me would joke about my name since most have my current friends no I like the name.
