Skinning Help

I need help with my first skin, i made it using paint.net and when i put it in game you could only see the skin from up really close, otherwise it was all black

i dont know wht i did wrong but everytime i skin a vehicle or almost anything it turns out like that, anyone know whats wrong. my graphics card sucks as u can see in the screens does that have anything to do with it?
i dont know wht to do lol :roll:

Well, either the chaingun bitmap was swapped for the cryoglass, or it was a model change. If it was a model change, it may be a conflict between the skin and the model. If it is a model, put the stock bitmap on there and se if it goes black. :wink:

Make sure you generate MIP maps.

i had a similar problem once too. i tried to put an image on Sergeant Johnson's hat, and it came out exactly the same thing. try just redoing the skin, and watch the layers and if there are any masks.
