skinning

i would like ot know how to make GOOD skins all the tutorials tell u HOW to skin but dont go into detail about how to make GOOD skins. ive made 1 mod so far and everyone hated the skins wat i really need help on is WEAPON and VEHICLE skins please if somoen know how to make good skins please tell me how i would like ot become experinced in the field of skinning

First things First

What skinning program do you use?

Do you have an Xfire or AIM?

And those really aren't that horrible. They're not good, but they're not horrible.

well ive been getting comments saying thta my skins rnt good so i want to know how i can make them AWESOME like some skins i see on this forums also i do have xfire USER:omegahalo
and i use HMT and paint.......or gimp..are those sucky?

MS Paint is what's screwin' you over. You need Adobe Photoshop or Paint.NET with the .DDS Plugins installed to skin properly.

I think the scorpion skin looks just fine

it is a repeating texture. look at the center front of it. you will see what i mean.

From the front it doesn't look to bad though.
