Alright, I was using a battle rifle skin for the sniper rifle. I take the original skin (first I did EOF and update) and injected it over the same skin, then I pressed "save" on the top left box. All it did was overwrite the skin.

What am I doing wrong?

Yeah, now look for the skin in another map.

Alright thanks, I got it.

So I guess this means only one type of skin for a particular weapon for each level?

Oh by the way, just how would you use this when duplicating weapons?

Philly, I don't think that trick for adding a bitmap slot does what you think it does. It doesn't make it so that there is a new bitmap file stored within the .map file that is referenced to under the bitmap branch, I think it creates a new slot within bitmaps.map, which is useful, but then you need to use a sized ppf for bitmaps when releasing. Correct me if I'm wrong

Ok, so lets say I want to rebuild a map with a duplicated AR as a BR.


How?

You mean a regular assault rifle and a remodeled assault rifle in the same map?

I don't think anyone else has done it but me yet but i assure you it IS possible... i still have the icefields map with dual modeled snipers...

It's very easy.

You can use notepad, or PMI Tools.

*EDIT*

I know there's a mod with duplicated warthog tags, and a sniper as well.

it's actually quite common, DECOY does it in most of his mods, and I've seen plenty mods with that method.

you're not the only one who's done it, lol.

As you can see I posted there, I got that down easy, I can do it without any problems at all, I've put 4 of the same weapon in a map, all with seperate models, the problem I have is they all share the same skin, Which is not a problem to Philly and his plasma rifles.

I want to know how he did that. Like just a quick list of steps, nothing in depth, just when to do what.

Say I have just duplicated my plasma rifles, and I have 4 skins in HMT to look at.
When I inject over one, they all change. Right?
Simple, you just click those buttons, inject and save.
Now you see that only one of those skins has been changed clever, eh?
