Fireteam Delta

I posted this in the pictures section, but I need some more advice on it. I'm not trying to get attention, or respect by posting this again. Here goes...

What on earth is Fireteam Delta?
Fireteam delta is something I started a few months ago. After realising I could do stuff like duplicating and PMI, I started something special. I was inspired by Halo legendary, CMT, Halo DX and halo redux to make a fun mod.

I distinctly remember the first time I played Halo. I was amazed. The more I played it, and other games, the more it lost its edge. The idea of Fireteam Delta (FD) is to resharpen the that blunt edge, make the game more fun, more atomspheric and more beautiful than ever. Those pics you see above are just the start. They are just one level. I plan to do the whole campaign.

If you don't like what you see, I advise you not to rant, but to go somewhere else. If you do like what I have made so far, and are willing to help me, post something constructive. If you want to contribute directly, PM me on what you can do.

The mod may seem random, but it will develop, I assure you. Some things in it will die, other things may be included on the way, but in the end, it will be truly amazing, I promise.

That's it. Please leave comments and critisism. :P

Important Note: You may notice certain similarities between this and the Halo Redux by Pepsi. We have discussed this, and any such similarities are of complete coincidence.

More pictures will be added as I mod more levels.

Weapons Guide - Check for updates!

I analysed by modded weapons, and interviewed some chatty marines:

Shotgun: A staple of the UNSC, the shotgun is cheap, lightweight and powerful. Despite its short range, it is very popular with the marines. It fires a shell containing around 20 pellets, over a distance of about 30 metres.

"The shotgun will blast all through the day and all through the night; then you might have to reload." -Pvt. Amesbury
"Shotguns can blast a hole straight through a sheilded elite's head, I've tried it." -Cptn. Dave

Needler: The needler stores bright pink needles, glowing when fired. The needles home in on targets, penetrating soft sufarces. It has the ability to cause super explosions when enough rounds are fired. It contains an internal cooling system which prevents it from overheating, unlike most other covenant weapons.

"Use with caution." -Cmdr. Reeves
"Don't shoot this thing at a wall, for heaven's sake!" -Cpl. Smith

Assault Rifle: The military has been producing varients of this rifle for years, but the MA-5E has impressed soldiers of all ranks. It is highly reliable, and has been known to be abused in terrible ways, but still work perfectly afterwards! It shoots its clip in a matter of seconds, but fully automatic fire is not reccommended.

"Still no secondary fire function? Damn!" -Heard numerous times in the common rooms of battleships

Plasma Rifle: Shooting powerful bolts at high speeds, the plasma rifle is a force to be reckoned with. It has a high recoil, and depletes its battery quickly. It is also prone to overheating, when fired for extended periods of time. Like the plasma pistol, it has been reported to have been seen in two colours, but no-one knows why.

"If you see an elite carrying one of these, you'll be dead before you see the muzzle flash." -Mjr. Kipley
"We've tried these on the ranges, they're pretty f***ing good!" -Lcpl. Wilson

Pistol: Our engineers have worked hard on the pistol, and the 'D' variant shows the leading edge of human technology. The pistol shoots high velocity, explosive projectiles, capable of penetrating the thickest of all armour. The rounds are so large and heavy however, that the clip size has had to have been reduced.

"Lethal it may be, I wouldn't want to carry this gun around all day; it weighs a ton!" -Cdre. Billington

oh a have a quick question, will you be redoing the grounds too? because i don't know about everyone else, but i find the grass texture a bit fake, i mean look at the grass then look at your lawn, it does not look very real to me.

I could make it smaller, as in more detailed?
The only way to take out thye fakeness is with a detail object collection. That's what brings Halo 2 to life. :P

well what i meant was the texture, because if you look at the bitmap of the grass in HMT and in game it looks fake to me. and i don't mean fake as in astroturf i mean fake as in someone drew it to look like real grass in photoshop or something.

take a digital camera, take a picture of part of your lawn looking straight down, and then open the picture in photoshop, do your stuff like make it the same size as the original grass bitmap and then save it as dxt1 or whatever, import, and u got real lookin' grass.

That won't work for two reasons:

thats a good idea in theory till you realize the texture needs to be seamless..
