Imo, firefox blows.
Anyways, why can't you just use the IE7/FF dler?
Why do you have to use some 3rd party downloader that hogs more resources than it should, and slows your computer while downloading. Istead of using a trusted set of explorers and DL with them.

FireFox is better than IE, in my opinion.

Anyway, if you're in Firefox, the best downloading extension is DownThemAll. It speeds up my downloads to to around 750kb/s, rather than the 200-300kb/s that I would normally get using the regular download method.
