How do they do that?
You know how in i think its Area 52 were those little demon skulls, and the spiders are. How did they do that? get tags from another game? or something like that?

Rossmum used GMax to create most of his models, and his are great. Now, I admit GMax isn't the best program, but it's modeling features are almost identical to that of 3ds Max. You don't need rendering, or all that other fancy stuff to mode, albeit some modeling features not found in GMax can make it a bit tough, it's still possible. Suffice to say, GMax is a great program.
