CANNOT REBUILD: new development

Post by gradinafrica »

HELP HELP HELP HELP
I've got the latest version of HMT and absolutely cannot rebuild a map. It gets extremely frustrating. It just gets to the part where is supposedly creating the map index and then just sits the indefinitely. Seriously, I've left my compy on overnight, and it hasn't gotten anywhere. Could someone who has been able to rebuild a map using HMT PM me and then I can let you know how to get the program to me from there? Don't worry, it'll be over internet. I live in Africa, so face to face is out of the question. I'm also using Halo PC full, but not CE. I've now figured out that when I attempt to rebuild the map, the buildTree.txt in C:\ gets to exactly 212KB and then it stops getting added to, right in the middle of creating the map index. If you know why this might happen, let me know.

Here's the BuildTree.txt (the log of what HMT does while rebuilding): here.

As you can see if you check it out, it stops in mid-line and will not continue, no matter what. Please help if you have any idea as to its origin.

Please tell me you're not using Vista...
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

Vista has nothing to do with it. The only error you get with Vista is the build tree error if you dont run hmt the right way.

If you've tried everything, follow one of the noob-freindly-pretty-picture tutorials in the tutorial section. They may be patronising, but they're damn useful. :P

It's not HMT trial, it's full v3.5, I think. I am mainly using Vista, however, I have tried using an XP with the same copy of the program, and it does the same thing. Please, if you have been able to rebuild a map, PM me, and I'll provide a way to get the file over the internet. Thanks.

No, he's asking if you're on Halo Trial, as in the demo version.

Sorry, guys. OK, so I am using halo full, and this is on bloodgulch, which I think is a common enough map that I would think that it could be rebuilt. I'll try redownloading HMT here in a sec.

Why not tell us the relavent stuff in the original post, instead of saying: "whoops I just realised I can't do it cos my hmt is corrupt" half way down the page?
