Adding transparency to warthog wheel skins?

Post by _FC_Homies »

I've seen some pretty awesome rim textures that were realistic, because they were transparent on the empty sides by the spokes. How would I do this?

Save the Warthog tire texture under the Bitmap tag of any map with a warthog in it. Open it in photoshop, and take the brush, make sure it's black, and choose the size, and edges u want, then just do one click where u want it transparent.

hopefully this helps in any way.

Sorry for the confusion, but that's not how it's done. :(
You open the texture in something like DXTBmp, and then skin the alpha channel.
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

You use black for transparency and white for opacity.

if your using PS, go to the layers window. by the layers tab on that window is another tab named "channels" just highlight the "alpha" channel and work with that like mentioned above.

I'm using a legally owned Photoshop CS2. There's no layer UI like you mentioned above.
