The E_sword is "scex" friendly and should look good in both 1st and 3rd person views. I do not know if it is "soso" friendly though.
The old sword model looks good with normal soso shaders, but not so much with any of the scex's.
Note:
Shaders/reticles/3rd person animation (just swap the weapon ID to flamethrower) are not included
Enjoy!

In my old sword model, I had an obnoxious vertice I couldn't find, so I tried to move the model as close to that point as I could- without offsetting the model too much. the vertice that you see in the "progress" I believe is the same one. instead of moving the model close to that point, I'm going to find the two vertices that connect to that point and bring them together (this'll create a line, and as we learned from geometry, a single line doesn't make a face).
>>> I'm getting closer- now that I've got the blade done for the most part, I'll start on the body (this should be a little easier, depending on how cooperative the model is.

Red circle represent the handle
The yellow circle represents the old way of creating the blade. The new blade should be more "3D-ish".
>>> Another update: I've got the inner section for the lower part of the blade done. I'm now working on the outer section for the lower part of the blade.
