i will be giving out basically a whole copy of my halo files. all of them. maps, bitmaps, everything for this mod.

further more...

redux is just about complete and me and nessa went into it and got some footage. we put together a nice vid of this mod. pleaser take the time to watch it and post some comments.

we are looking for final feedback from anyone who has followed this mod since its birth. this is a last chance to say what you want on it before release or just if you feel its done in your eyes.

we have two quality's of the vid to offer...

a direct download to the rendered vid. its 23mb, so its not huge but its the quality we prefer you to watch. i would like to offer pure AVI but that would be a few gigs.

BEST QUALITY: http://pepness.assassinsdamned.com/redux/reduxfinal.wmv <-dont full screen it!

or...

you can view the crap quality on youtube which is for those who feel like being a slacker ...lol

UGH QUALITY: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pIBYJS_XNv4

feedback is important at this point so please leave some. oscuro has been beta testing the crap out of this and should make a post himself soon on it. so well see.

to anyone who has left a comment here in this thread, me and nessa would like to say thanks for the support and feedback even if it was positive or negative. we appricate your comments and its what drove this project from the beginning. seeing people wanting and interested in it.

now go!
watch the vid!

sure, outstanding would be nice, but id rather see a new life being breathed into modding halopc.

theres still a ton of things we can do to this game, were only limited by our imaginations thats all.

but thanks for feeling it deserves to be there. now i have more pressure on me to go back again and adjust a few more things.

maybe i can figure out how to make the hogs leave flame trails or make the tank fire sniper shots. that would be leet... >_>

j/k, thanks philly thoe.. means alot.

After Beta testing the 98% complete mod, I can honestly say this is one of the best mods I have ever played. I constantly found myself stoping in levels such as the Library and TaR to absorb the changes and skins. Playing the mod was seriously like playing a completely different Halo game. I rarely play Halo on PC unless im testing a mod or playing multiplayer, but not only will this mod help me enjoy multiplayer more, it will make me play single player as well. Hopefully more people will feel the same and not only will more people play Halo PC again, but they will actually mod. Its sad to see people stop modding when we have only tapped the vastness of possibilities it gives us. The only bad thing i can thing of is that I suffered minor performance problems, but that was minor at best. Plus my computer isn't the best in the world, not even close. I want to personally thank you Pepsi and Nessa for this amazing mod that will bring me joy for months.

This concludes my wall of text :D

3ds max - the modeling, skinning animating, rendering, (etc...) program.

Bitmap/texture editing is done in photoshop (or another photo manipulation program), not 3ds max. Unwrapping, rigging, modeling, and animation are things that you can do in max. Most of the time when someone is talking about skinning in max they are referring to the skin modifier. The skin modifier is used for rigging, not UVW mapping or texture editing.

may i suggest you use Sppf or serenity to make patchs of the maps as they can make new patches of rebuilt maps.

yeah, i was thinking of that also but when ive been giving out the bitmaps.ppf to beta testers some bitmaps are coming out very corrupted. its done this now 4 times with different textures including oscuro telling me the chief looked messed up. i gave him the bitmap file itself and there were no issues. i think for the best im just going to offer the bitmaps as is.

for the SP/MP maps im going to do just ppf's themselves. nothing in the mod was rebuilt aside from conures UI ive always offered with all the projects in the past. the total download for this may be around 350mb? but thats cause i have to offer the bitmaps/ui.map as individual files on their own to avoid issues during beta.

honestly ive never touched serenity, so im not to sure on how to do things with that. ive set a deadline for this project to be release by sometime tomorrow so i can only say that by feedback from thoes that have beta tested the download wait will be worth it.

Where are you planning on hosting it? This is probably going to be downloaded a bunch right after being released. Might not be a bad idea to create a torrent for it.

Seriously?? What?

I never said Texture editing was done in 3ds. 3ds max does uvw map. What?
