My Take on a Halo 3 Single Player Mod. Check it out!

Halo PC uploads. All posts must have pictures and a mod to download. Use PPF always, unless the map is rebuilt.

ok the AR looks like it, but nothing else does. please elaborate on this numbers thing.

I've played and beaten Halo 3. I know what I'm talking about. The shee just needs a green reflection. And I was talking about the AR numbers. Also, Dude, (the one who made these mods) Can you make those models and stuff into the multiplayer maps?
The only new model that I used for this mod is the Halo 3 AR model by phoenix which is posted elsewhere on this forum, and it's a relatively simple matter to inject the models into the multiplayer maps.

And like bc, I'm not quite sure what you are talking about in editing the AR original numbers. You mean the display looks crooked? If I edit the bitmaps for those though, then when you load up an MP map with the original AR model the numbers would look messed up for those.

Also, I tried the green sheen for the banshee and it worked, but it caused levels like Truth and Reconciliation to look really messed up since they also used the same cubemaps, so I decided in the end that it wasn't worth the tradeoff.

EDIT: And also bc, I appreciate your feedback but do realize that models don't make the mod and I also don't have any modeling tools atm (the only thing I currently have is Autodesk Inventor right now and my old license has expired, I'm getting a new one sometime later). As for the textures, there really isn't much you can do for it as Halo PC can only go so far and it's not like you can up the resolution or anything.

No, I meant I dont know how to do the animations and speed and other stuff. I also dont have the patience. If you do this, I'll make a deal with you. I'll try to edit anything you ask me to for a month! Deal?

Oh come on, its a great mod and a lot of fun, just because its not exactly like H3 doesn't mean its not any fun.... and isn't making maps more fun the point on modding?

Absolutely does't look like halo 3, there is nothing halo 3 in this mod ( except the AR ). So why tell this h3 if it's not h3 mod ?...

the point i think people are trying to convey and make clear is why name it halo3 anything?

the mod should simply have a name and when you describe whats in it label them as "halo3 type AR" and such. calling your whole mod halo3 only sets you up for more critizem then your looking for cause now your whole mod is being based on halo3's looks and feel.

just put some thought into your mods name. take mine im doing for instance..

then i was like.. wtf does resurgent mean? so i looked it up and saw this.. "rising or tending to rise again; reviving; renascent."

the point im trying to make is to actually throw a name on your mod that fits it. even if its something like.. "my take on halo3 mod" would work. but just dont name it "halo 3 single player mod" cause your going to let people down seeing the title when they reaslize its just some H3 inspired weapons in H1 bg.

Ok I haven't tryed that mod yet but is it really fun? If so I might try it and by the way people. My mod is like this one, the video made it look boring but I think it was much better then the original H1.

Ok thanks, that clarifies a lot for me and I understand and totally agree with you, "My Take on Halo 3 for Halo PC" does sound a lot less absolute than just "halo 3 mod!!!" If anything I'll keep that in mind if I make another mod someday. I haven't been on these forums for over 2 years and way back then, the standard for a quality mod was much lower such that one could literally call anything a "Halo 2 mod!!!", but I guess times have changed, I think I'll go back to reedit the title and some of the descriptions so as to not mislead any more people that come check out this mod.

There will always be those who say it sucks and those who say it's nice, so really my suggestion is that you give it a try. I'd say start on Silent Cartographer or AotCR or w/ever your fav level is.

I hear that! 2 years ago my mod would have been hailed as outstanding but now most think it isn't to good but I'm making it better to reach todays standers.
