I propose a contest
Hello, I am Peabnuts123. I haven't been onto these forums for a long time. These forums are what i mark as my introduction to the internet, as you can find some extremely noob (yes noob, and not newb) posts by me from early 2004/late 2003. I doubt anybody remembers me, but i see that a couple of old faces still remain here...
Now that my introduction is over, let me get to the topic at hand.
I propose a contest be held. A retro contest, for Halo:CE mapping. Now like i said i haven't been here for two years or so and so i don't know how active Halo:CE is anymore but i can see that the outstanding mods section still remains relatively the same since when i used to be into making content for this.
As an ex-avid Halo:CE content creator i've been thinking about it a bit this week and i thought it might be cool to go back and make a map for it, to see how much better the overall quality of a map i might make now would be compared to 2 years ago. And so far, 2 years experience is working wonders on it all. So i decided that, since nobody really plays this anymore, why not hold a contest to inspire at least a small little period in which people get to remember what it was like when Halo:CE was in it's "height" (yea i know it was never very popular, remember all the 1k projects?).
So here it is, a contest for anybody to enter which entails the folllowing:
Contest: The aim of the contest is to produce the best map you can make.
Rules are as follows:
1.) All content must be your own.
2.) You may add as much custom content as you see fit to your map. This includes vehicles, weapons etc.
3.) Your map must be able to play all gametypes.
4.) Maps that began production prior to the setup of this content are eligible, however, maps completed prior are not.
5.) You may enter more than once.
6.) All entries must be in by November 10th. No later.
If you have any questions about rules, or possible suggestions, please feel free to speak up.
Winners:
Public voting will be held to decide the winner/s.
Public voting will begin November 12th.
I don't know what winning will get you as of yet so please throw some ideas out for prize/s.
If this gets enough popularity, i may add categories; e.g "Best Race Map" etc.
I think that's about it, have fun everyone!
