Hunters in Multiplayer???

Post by Et_Tu_Dufus »

How do I make myself and my buddies a hunter in MP, and have the fuel rod gun and melee attack?

I have seen and tried a tutorial for this but it didn't work. :x

Also, how do I make a small hunter army with ai in blood gulch?

Well first things first, welcome to the forums, even if I am a few days late, now onto business.

Im hoping that you've had a bit of expierience in modding, if not this is going to be very difficult.

You need to PMI? Do you know how to do this?

Oh and your not on Trial are you? Please say no.

PMI mean Perfect model injection. It's usually used to borrow things from other maps (e.g A pelican). It's not that easy but after 2-3 times you will be able to get a pelican in bloodgulch, in about 15 minutes.

PMI is short for "Perfect Model Injection". What you basically do is rip a map-file into every individual part, and then pull pieces from other maps and add them to the original map, and you then "rebuild" the map with the new tags.

Luckily, HMT does almost all of this for you.

Here's a tutorial on getting you and your friends to be hunter's, I'll try to explain everything as best as I can.
Kinda Long Tutorial wrote: ---Go to your desktop and make a new folder, Then inside that folder, make three new folders, named "Batch", "BSP", and "New stuff".

Now go into HMT, and open a CLEAN map, whichever you want. I'm going to use Bloodgulch for this example.

Once the map is opened, click the tools tab, and under extract click batch extract.

Click the button next to "Meta" or something like that, and then under browse go to your batch folder and select that.

Click start extraction and wait for it to finish.

Now go back to tools, and under extract click BSP.

Choose the BSP folder to extract to.

It should finish quickly. Now close this map and open a campaign map. Use B30.map.

Go to bipeds, and click hunter. Then up top by the meta numbers, click the recursive box, then click save meta.

Select the "New Folder" To save it to.

Now you want to go to Generate CSV File under tools.

Save it to your desktop.

Click Extract>Raw Model.

Load the CSV file you just saved.

Scroll through until you find the hunter biped. Click save, and this is the most important part, scroll through the following folders: Characters, then Hunters, then save it there.

If you save it somewhere else you'll lose. lol.

Now go to model decrapper/BSP builder under tools.

In the big White Box, right click and select add.

Find the hunter.mod2.meta you extracted earlier. It should be in the same folder as above.

Then under the existing vertices/indices/bsp, select the three files in your BSP folder.

click "Decrap these models and...."

When it finished, go into your BSP folder, take the file named bloodgulch.sbsp.meta, and copy it. Now go under the folder Batch>>Levels>>Test>>Bloodgulch and paste it there. It should ask you if you want to replace it. Click yes.

Now open your new stuff folder and copy EVERYTHING in it, and paste it in your batch folder, it will ask you to replace stuff. Click yes again.

Find the map you started with in the begining, and copy/paste that into your batch folder

Now go into HMT and click Tools, Rebuild Map.

For the original map, select the map thats in the batch folder, click yes to auto fill the stuff.

Now under new tags, right click and go to the folder characters, then hunter, and select the file named Hunter.bipd.meta.

Now click rebuild.

Wait for a little bit, then when it asks for new vertices go to your BSP folder and find the Bloodgulch.vertices.new file, and select it, same for the new indices, bloodgulch.indices.new.

When it asks to use the modified offset list, click yes.

Now it should take a little, bit then it'll be done, copy your bloodgulch.map.rebuild.map somewhere else, back it up, rename it to bloodgulch.map, and put it in your map folder.

Open it in HMT, and copy the meta of the Hunter over the CyborgMP. Start a game, your a hunter.

Your friends will need a copy of the map your playing on in order to join your game. Make sure you send them one.

It works!! YAY!!!

Now is there a way to make a small army of them on Blood Gulch, with AI.

I have seen a BLood Gulch mod that has AI enemies, but I can't figure this one out.

Help a n00b, save a tree, drink your milk, pay your taxes, MOD LIKE HELL.

AI is mainly in Halo CE territory. You could PMI it but the AI is worse. Like, you can only spawn it from flipped-over vehicles.

ALL CE->PC IS THE SAME.

OMG, just because you cant follow a tutorial step by step doesnt mean you can say oh yeah that tut is crap, because 1. You dont have the tools
2. you dont have the patience to learn
3. You dont even listen to me.

Heres a Tutorial that does work.

1. Download Halo CE and HEK.
2. make AI
3. pmi ce scenario to halp pc
4. pmi ai
5. run map.

OMG teh haxorz

For the AI you have to PMI the biped tags as listed above, and you also have to PMI the hunter's actr and actv tags.

It's a little more confusing. If you're really interested I'll explain further

twin 50 cal on warthog

Post by stanford_luver13 »

Hey guys is anyone out there willing to make a warthog in bloodgulch on halo CE have twin turrets controlled by one person still? Odd question, i know, but here is an example of what I would want on the back of it: http://mods.moddb.com/gallery/image/52927/ If you could do this than thank you sooooooo damn much because me and my friends are completely noobs and have limited accesss to the internet(besides here) and would greatly appreciate if any of you could lend and hand and built it for us. You could keep any copy of it, delete it, change it more i dont care as long as you give me and my friends a copy(1 ill copy it later).

Thanks alot email me at [email protected] if you want to or send me a private message on here if it isnt too much trouble :) :D
