Unable to convert TIFs to Bitmaps

Post by MukiHyena »

So apparently I need my files to be in a TIF format for conversion, so what I've done is downloaded new AR skins (Originally named CMT AR V1.tif), renamed them by taking away any spaces and capital letters in the name, and attempted to convert them to .bitmap using the bitmap function. However, I've run Process Moniter while running the program and it leaves no output file, no .bitmap or anything. I just get this:

usage: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\tool.exe verb <options..>
bitmap source-file
No More Errors For Tools By: {TLS}Udie

No output file at all.

Just open your bitmap in paint and resave it as a .TIF file.

By bitmap, I mean the file that's supported with Guerrilla, not .bmp. EVen then, I tried resaving my .tif files, doesn't work.

Make sure you put the bitmap in the right folder after saving it.

Should be *\Halo Custom Edition\data\weapons\assault rifle\bitmaps

It might be different, I don't know if the CMT AR had it's own folder or used the original AR's folder.

That's the thing, I'm not getting any .bitmap created from the .TIFs. Tool's not doing anything.

EDIT:
This is what I'm doing, and the line of text in Tool is what always comes up:

Hmm, I really don't know then. I'm probably just forgetting something, it's been a while since the last time I've compiled bitmaps... :?

Sorry I couldn't help. Hopefully someone else knows.

Use the bitmaps options in that tool program.
The bitmap option is broken.

Same results, same line of text. Should I just reinstall HEK?

well yes but bungie made the two for a reason. Bitmap is for converting 1 bitmap. BitmapS with the "S" means to convert a folder full of bitmaps and make sure the .tif image is uncompressed. Make sure of this by useing convim.

TIFS are completely uncompressed; I checked with Irfanview, there's no compression on them at all. I'm apparently not the only one with this problem, either. It's not working on my room mate's computer either, not getting any results with either computer.

So assuming that they're in tags/weapons/assault rifle/bitmaps, I could just type tool bitmap tags/weapons/assault rifle/bitmaps/filename and it should convert, right? Because it ain't doin shit
